Watching mcdavid last night was like watching a guy that played some decent level hockey vs a bunch of 60 yr olds who never played competitively. The fact that you could just go out in an nhl game and get the amount of points you need in one game is spectacular. What a treat

Is there any chance the last 4 games of the Canucks season will be called off? They're against Calgary(eliminated) and Edmonton(standings position locked).

The sooner the playoffs start for the leafs, the better.

Can you imagine how many more points McDavid would have had if he didn’t have to play a game on the same day as the memoriam :sarcasm:

if anything they will do both at the same time. Start playoffs and let the other teams deal with draft position

My guess

Calgary is not done yet, and McDavid will want to play the full 56 games.

Lame playoff races this year, top 4 in 3 of the 4 divisions have basically been set since the midway point of the year.

Nashville/Dallas in the Central ended up being the only real playoff spot fight until Dallas lost 5 straight (games 50 to 54) to hand it to Nashville.

Ottawa isn’t mustering much against Calgary tonight. 15 shots through two periods. God knows they’ll be try-hards on Wednesday. Hope no one on our end gets hurt because they’ve got to big up every Leafs game.

The 4th spot in the West was hotly contended until St. Louis finally took hold of it at the end. Still a lot closer than it should have been. East and North were really the only ones that were decided by the middle of the season, and the order of the 4 teams has been changing in the East throughout the year. Islanders were #1 and now they are #4.

The West was sort of contested I guess, there were times when Arizona held the 4th spot, although usually it was by a point or 2 with St Louis having a bunch of games in hand. Closer than expected for sure but never really in doubt.

No injuries is the name of the game. Don't really care if the stars mail it in. Two games left and they've got the division locked up.

Would like to see some of the depth guys battling for spots play hard though.

The NHL's own Bill Daly was on one of The Athletic's podcasts and basically said they expect to complete the schedule in order to satisfy sponsors (or that's how it sounded to me).

Montreal is playing Edmonton tonight. Edmonton has 0 reasons to try anymore so Montreal should win this. Our playoff opponent won’t be know till perhaps Friday

Yes, it would be. But then our playoffs won’t start till the 22nd or so. I’d rather our players not sit around for too long after the final game against WPG. I am also impatient and want the playoffs to start sooner rather than later lol.

It would be best for us, if Montreal would get a point tonight, and hopefully Winnipeg beats Vancouver. Then the top four would be known, and the playoffs could start on the 16th or 17th for us. Some divisions may start as early as the 12th to 14th.
