No the comment that followed was made on the basis of reality. Not emotion. I would never claim to be the most knowledgeable about the business of the NHL, the inner workings, the analytics, etc. However, explain to me WHY a team who just finally got that real true #1A defenseman would immediately trade him away, albeit for another need they have, admittedly. Then the defense immediately gets worse. Im sorry, but have you been watching these preseason games so far? No they arent perfect representations of the season to come, but they arent too far off, it seems most people around here believe. So we have stellar offense and stellar defense. Both games working well. outscoring the opposition 19-4 in 4 games. So if we trade a top tier D for a top tier F what do we get? Winning games 7-3 instead of 5-1? More production, but more goals given up? I know its not that black and white, but does that make any sense?

If you're basing anything on 4 preseason games, yes.
