Sounds wierd but LA probably has a better chance at upsetting Dallas than Edmonton, even though Dallas is a better team than Edmonton

Even with the recent playoff issues against Edmonton, I think LA would much rather face them than Dallas. I'm sure Oilers are ecstatic as well
I'd argue the top 4 Western teams are all on one side of the bracket now

Edmonton gets to play an LA Kings that needed to pull their goalie and a last minute PP to get out of the 8th seed for the third year in a row
They'll win the easy series and then tell people how good they are. As much as the Leafs get made fun off, everyone ignores the fact the LA Kings have lost 4 1st round series in a row.. and haven't gotten out of the first round since 2013-2014.
Edmonton doesn't even got to win the division to walk into these easy matchups. Their bracket is Vancouver, Nashville, and LA. If they don't win the Pacific it might be the biggest choke job in the McDavid era. The Knights just switched over to the Central.
Huge benefit to play in the weak Pacific division under this new playoff format.

But The Atlantic is as dangerous: Florida, Boston, Toronto, Tampa Bay
Pacific comes third(Vancouver, Edmonton, Los Angeles, Nashville )
And finally the metro division comes last because only two teams in that playoff bracket are good: the NY Rangers and the Carolina Hurricanes . Both the NY Islanders and Washington Capitals will be out in round 1.

Yeah with Vegas in the Central it’ll be a cakewalk for the Oilers to at least reach the Conference Finals. And the bloodbath that is the Central bracket could see them face a weakened opponent opening the door to a Stanley Cup Finals appearance.

The point of the bracket is to win it though.
NYR + Carolina are stronger than Edmonton + Vancouver.
If you wanted a bracket with the best chance to win, everyone is picking the Pacific. NYR won the President's Trophy. Carolina is 3rd in the league.

I was really disappointed in hunter. I thought we would get Nil like picks. Just a disaster
