Could Calgary get a top 10 pick for Gaudreau if they traded him? I see some Flame fans proposing a Gaudreau to NJ for their 7th pick. And why so many Hall to Calgary rumours? Do they have the cap space to sign him?

In a flat cap world, a player with Gaudreau's contract doesn't always have positive value.

Eric Francis was on NHL network this morning and is adamant they get rid of Gaudreau this year, but he's not sure what GM will want a non playoff performer. Maybe at his 6.75 million hit, but it ties up too much space even at that.

Wonder if more players bolt like Rask did now that families won’t be coming. Marschessault from Vegas sounded pretty pissed about it yesterday.

But families have to follow the Canadian - NHL quarantine rules like anyone else so too bad.

Edit - it also makes extending the time in the bubble with the stupid play in round even that more ridiculous.

Two thoughts on this:

• This is where the owners who get it step up and find ways to get families to Edmonton with their private planes. Word gets around among the players and such owners will have a much easier sell to future free agents
• Looking at the NBA maintaining a tight bubble in Florida (despite all their cases across the state) will have the league wishing they went with Vegas and the greater number of entertainment options.
