Before we crap on the Flamers too much, atleast they played longer than us and actually played what is considered playoff hockey; us, not so much

Seeing the Flames pull a literal never before done historical game choke and being 11 seconds from going up 3-1 in a classic series choke erases our ineptitude.

You see - We know we are shit. It’s been discovered it’s in our water. Whereas Calgary thinks they are actually a good hockey team and should be contending for a Stanley Cup (lololol). That makes it even better.

First off. I hate the Flames. Between Kneerdano and Tkachuk being scum. Johnny dives a lot. Very strange/favorable officiating. Their broadcast group being the worst bunch of clueless homers. There is lots to legit hate about them.

They managed to choke in an epic fashion. Historically even.

But.

We choked badly as well. And overall did worse in the play ins. As much fun as it is to poke fun at them we should not take it too far. Since they did "technically" do better than us. There are some decent Flames fans that hate a lot of what goes with the Flames as well. Those poor saps deserve a bit of our pity for yet another poor playoffs.

And probably the only change their team will under go is moving out Johnny for Hall. Another very poor playoff performer. While Kneerdano gets older and their goaltending goes tits up. Not a lot to look forward to as a Flames fans.

Pity the Flames? Nope. Never. Not gonna happen.

Could Calgary get a top 10 pick for Gaudreau if they traded him? I see some Flame fans proposing a Gaudreau to NJ for their 7th pick. And why so many Hall to Calgary rumours? Do they have the cap space to sign him?

It is going to be an interesting off-season for the Flames and really when you look at the number of iffy contracts they have they are running neck and neck with the Oilers. Both franchises have been badly mismanaged for years.

-Gaudreau, Monahan, Backlund and Lucic deals are way too expensive when you consider the playoff production you get from the drab four--- but as always, no one is going to take bad contracts off your hands unless you are willing to take some bad contracts in return.

-5 Flames D-men are UFA's but really the Hanifin contract is the biggest burden and has multiple years left to run.

-Talbot is a UFA but Rittich has one year left at 2.7m. You can bet they would love to unload his contract as well but really the guy is an AHL goalie so who is going to pick up this salary?

Like any good circus they need a star attraction if they get rid of crying johnny. Plus as an oiler fan there is no better way to cripple the flames than to see them sign fallzy .
