I have yet to read the article, but gregor highlighted a couple things from the Carcillo lawsuit.

While I am not overly shocked at what other players did to players, I am very surprised that a coach actually whipped a kid that was taped to a table with his ass exposed. Guys made to masturbate in front of other players and coaches? Like f***.

Like Struds said when he went off to Junior his mom had conversations with the coach and gm. They were suppose to look after the kids and make sure they weren't being stupid and were protected. It's one thing to turn a blind eye to a little hazing(although seems this was more than regular hazing), but to be a part of it is not acceptable.

If a coach did this he should be criminally charged.

None of this is shocking to me at all. All pretty much par for the course.

I like the reaction of everyone in this picture.

As for the card itself, that's just unreal, but it's a massive risk IMO. People went crazy over his rookie card when it first came out, but it's gonna take years to get back to the price that people were paying when it first came out.

TSN and SN getting roasted for pulling the Matthews positive test story. Note both companies own the Shitbag Leafs.

The NHL I thought had a rule on not announcing names. Not surprising that the big networks would stay away from having a guys name out there.

Unless they 100% find out from Matthews or his agent it doesn't seem like a risk anyone should really be taking.

The NHL rules don't apply to the media. The problem is its TSN and SN poster boy Austin Matthews. Matthews plays for the Leafs. SN and TSN own the Leafs.

You can bet if it were any other player outside of one of their Leafs, that players name would be splashed all over their networks and websites. They have done it with every other athlete so far. So yes it is surprising.

But if you don't have an actual source and are using Steve Simmons you can end up in trouble.

That and even though it's a NHL rule, do those networks want to break something the NHL is trying to not release?

At least the players on the ice seem to know who this seasons MVP is...
That's why I think the Lindsay is the better trophy. Rather have players, coaches and GM's making the decisions on all awards.

Far too many times you see media guys with some real odd picks.

I’ve never known the sports networks to withhold information before. The NHL also doesn’t have a “rule” in place either, it’s merely how they are choosing to disseminate information. It’s not meant for the media. It’s meant for the NHL teams to follow. The media can do whatever they want as long as it’s legal.

And while I agree Steve Simmons is a dick he felt confident enough in his sources to publish. TSN followed it up and ran an article but then took it down. They stated Steve Simmons sources and the media does this all the time, it’s common practice to run a story giving credit to the reporter (this his sources) who broke it.

The point is this is about who owns what and what they are allowing to be published. If McDavid has Covid you can bet TSN would publish it. Because TSN owns the Leafs, they silenced the story.

Remember, TSN regales the planet with what Matthews eats for breakfast, what clothes he wears, what car he drives, how runny his stool is, the daily growth of his pornstache, on a minute by minute basis, 24/7.

TSN published then withdrew and now silenced that he has Covid, while at the same time has published every athlete on the planet who has Covid.

Not a little strange to you?

I don't think it's strange that most of the mainstream media did not report specifically on Matthews' Covid diagnosis because it's private medical information. As far as I am aware, they haven't reported individuals who have been diagnosed with Covid unless either the individual themselves or their agents have confirmed the information. Personally, I think it's gross when that type of information gets leaked. Sports injuries - fine. Athletes ought to assume that information related to their injuries may get out but non-sports related medical diagnosis? No way. That should be entirely at the discretion of the individual. If any NHL/TML employees or health care staff who were involved with the testing leaked the information to the media without Matthews permission they should be fired, imo.

The media reports all the time medical issues from sources. If Matthews stubs his toe it’s reported from sources. Suddenly it’s hush hush? Hogwash from Hogtown.

Show me since when the media has needed approval from an agent or player to discuss an injury.

When other reporters are calling BS to it you know it smells.
