Drouin with a penalty shot goal, Peca with a nice cross ice feed for an assist. Former Bolts helping the Canadiens find some offense.

ADD: Drouin with his second of the night.

Peca with his 2nd assist, now has 1/3rd of Erne's career points in one game.

Watched some old Lightning videos on Youtube and found this great comment from four years ago from a Habs fan.

No lead is safe against the Washington Capitals. As they've proven against us a number of times over the years. 4-1 vs. Florida, now 4-4, both goalies pulled.

This whole Nylander contract situation is hilarious. Dubas wants Nylander to take a discount under the guise of "taking less to stay together" when they haven't done jack as a team, he just wants his number down because it's not convenient for the leafs this year. If you need the core to sign less you make the highest/best guy do it first not the lowest guy. Nylander completely screws himself if he takes the discount first and Matthews (who's reportedly after McDavid money) doesn't.

Not to mention going out and signing Marleau to 6.25m, Tavares to 11m and saying well we only got 6.5m left for you. It's an insult to a guy brought up in the system.

Yeah discounts are a tough sell most of the time. I think it can work if a) you gave the guy a shot when no one else would (low-round picks/undrafted), or b) history of success. The Leafs have neither of those.

I never criticize a player for wanting full value, but I appreciate it when guys take discounts. Kucherov easily saved us 1.5 mil at minimum with his contract. Hedman saved us maybe 2-3 mil. Hell, even McDonagh would have gotten more on the market. That basically pays for a guy like Miller over a replacement-level player.
