If anyone can make Yakupov look decent, it's Backlund.

I mean, if you're taking Tkachuk off that line and moving Frolik back to LW, might as well put Brouwer there.

Yes, if McDavid, Draisaitl and Stastny can't, surely Backs can! Yakupov is done.

McDavid Draisaitl and Stastny are all very different players than Backlund. I think it would be worth the shot and probably pretty cheap. If he sucks we can send him to the AHL and hope that he bolts home to void his contract. Don't really see the downside, and the upside is delicious oiler fan tears!!

Why risk ruining Backlund's chances at a Selke by tying him to a boat anchor?

With Niemi being bought out, could we look at him as a backup option if Johnson's price tag is too high? He shouldn't be too expensive.

If not Johnson, they'll probably look at Bernier, Pavelec, Nilsson and Condon.

Condon or Bernier are my picks for backup.

wouldn't mind Bernier, but I think he stays in Anaheim.

We couldn't seem to score on Bernier in the playoffs. So having him on our team could mean we won't score on ourselves, right?

I have no issues with Bernier coming aboard, but I think he will want 2+ million and I think going above 1.25-1.5 for a backup job is too much
