Before getting to our list of top 20 prospects, we'd like to unveil our long list of prospect graduates from this past season. These players are newly ineligible for our Top 20 prospects list:

LC - Pavel Zacha - New Jersey Devils (NHL)
LD - Jakob Chychrun - Arizona Coyotes (NHL)
RW - Brett Ritchie - Dallas Stars (NHL)
LC - Nick Cousins - Arizona Coyotes (NHL)
LW - Phil Di Giuseppe - Carolina Hurricanes (NHL)
LC - Alan Quine - New York Islanders (NHL)

The theme with this Top 20 is Champions. 5 of the 20 players on this list are Memorial Cup Champions, including three from this years' Windsor Spitfires. Two Memorial Cup Finalists, an NCAA Hockey East Champion, a member of this years' AHL Calder Cup Champions, Three WJC Gold Medalists, 4 OHL Champions. Most of these prospects have experience winning as they work their way to the HFNHL.

#1 - LC - Logan Brown - Windsor Spitfires (OHL) 6'06" 220
HFNHL Draft: 1st Round, 10th Overall in 2016 by the Arizona Coyotes
NHL Draft: 1st Round, 12th Overall in 2016 by the Ottawa Senators
Analysis: "After graduation of several prospects this year, Logan emerges as our top prospect for the summer of 2017. He is 6'06" and produced over a point per game during the regular season and in the 2017 Memorial Cup. Logan has great offensive tools, capable of setting up chances and getting open to get his big shot off. He is learning to use his size better and doesn't slack off defensively. He has top six upside written all over him, with a good chance of becoming a #1 Centre."
Projection: Top Six Centre

#2 - LC - Michael Dal Colle - Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL) 6'03" 198
HFNHL Draft: 1st Round, 5th Overall in 2014 by the San Jose Sharks
NHL Draft: 1st Round, 5th Overall in 2014 by the New York Islanders
Analysis: "Michael was acquired near the HFNHL trade deadline that saw Karl Alzner move to Nashville. After helping the Oshawa Generals win the 2015 Memorial Cup, he posted 80 points in 60 games in the regular season and 18 points in 9 games during the 2016 playoffs. In his first pro season Michael posted 41 points in 75 games finishing third among Bridgeport forwards in scoring. Michael is a playmaker who can also put the puck in the net. He's better suited as a winger than a forward and has all the potential to become a top six forward in the NHL."
Projection: Top Six Winger

#3 - RC - Gabriel Vilardi - Windsor Spitfires (OHL) 6'02" 192
HFNHL Draft: 1st Round, 5th Overall in 2017 by the Arizona Coyotes
NHL Draft: 1st Round, 11th Overall in 2017 by the Los Angeles Kings
Analysis: "Gabriel has already proven to be a powerful offensive threat in the OHL as a 17 year old. He has been able to produce on the big stage with a combined 13 points in 11 playoff/Memorial Cup games. He's a dominant winger down low who controls the play and creates offense with his great presence on the cycle and below the hashmarks. Vilardi is an ideal player to play on the wing with top skilled players creating a presence along the wall and down low in a top six situation."
Projection: Top Six Winger

#4 - W - Denis Gurianov - Texas Stars (AHL) 6'03" 201
HFNHL Draft: 1st Round, 26th Overall in 2015 by the New York Islanders
NHL Draft: 1st Round, 12th Overall in 2015 by the Dallas Stars
Analysis: "Denis moved over to North America after spending another year in Russia. He finished in the top 5 in scoring among under 20 players in the AHL. He also finished in the top 3 of scoring for Team Russia at the 2017 World Junior Championships. Denis is a high skill forward with good size. He can finish and set up chances equally well. He has very high upside, if he can nail down his consistency at the NHL level he could be a top six winger in the NHL.
Projection: Top Six Winger

#5 - LW - Isaac Ratcliffe - Guelph Storm (OHL) 6'06" 200
HFNHL Draft: 1st Round, 26th Overall in 2017 by the Arizona Coyotes
NHL Draft: 2nd Round, 35th Overall in 2017 by the Philadelphia Flyers
Analysis: "Ratcliffe had an excellent second season in the OHL where he more than tripled his point production. He proved both his goal scoring ability and his ability to create offense at the OHL level. He has great size at 6'06" but is a very good skater for his size. He creates offense and shows a little grit. He has the hockey sense and talent to develop into a top six forward one day, but will need a little more time to adjust to his size."
Projection: Top Six Winger

#6 - RD - Jake Dotchin - Tampa Bay Lightning (NHL) 6'03" 212
HFNHL Draft: 3rd Round, 70th Overall in 2012 by the Arizona Coyotes
NHL Draft: 6th Round, 161st Overall in 2012 by the Tampa Bay Lightning
Analysis: "Dotchin took his time developing but really had his breakout this season with the Lightning. Originally called up to fill in for Victor Hedman during an injury, he performed so well that he became Victor Hedman's defensive partner when he came back from injury. A big, physical shutdown defender with a good first pass and a powerful shot from the point. Jake looks like he's made the big step to the NHL and there's little that should prevent him from continuing to hold a top four spot in the Tampa Bay blueline."
Projection: Top Four two-way defender

#7 - LD - Siegenthaler, Jonas - Hershey Bears (AHL) 6'02" 218
HFNHL Draft: 2nd Round, 52nd Overall in 2015 by the Arizona Coyotes
NHL Draft: 2nd Round, 57th Overall by the Washington Capitals
Analysis: "Jonas has a very imressive international resume. He played in three World Under 18 Championships and Three World Junior Championships. He played full time in the men's league in Switzerland at the age of 16. He has good size, plays a steady shutdown role but has underrated offensive ability. He will likely take on more of a defensive role but can also chip in offensively. He has the potential to become a second pairing defenseman in the NHL."
Projection: Second Pairing Defensive defenseman

#8 - LC - Dickinson, Jason - Texas Stars (AHL) 6'02" 205
HFNHL Draft: 2nd Round, 50th Overall in 2013 by the Arizona Coyotes
NHL Draft: 1st Round, 29th Overall in 2013 by the Dallas Stars
Analysis: "Jason is a skilled two-way forward who is capable of producing points and shutting down the opposition. He has good size and plays a pretty straight forward game. He has the upside of a skilled two-way forward that can play a second or third line role in the NHL."
Projection: Top Nine two-way centre

#9 - G - Joseph Woll - Boston College (NCAA) 6'03" 203
HFNHL Draft: 3rd Round, 70th Overall in 2016 by the Arizona Coyotes
NHL Draft: 3rd Round, 62nd Overall in 2016 by the Toronto Maple Leafs
Analysis: "Joseph has a strong track record leading back to a very successful Under-17 Challenge and Under-18 Championship, at times outplaying his goaltending partner and 2017 first rounder Jake Oettinger. Joseph made his first appearance at the World Junior Championships and played impressive when called upon. He has size, great technique and positioning. It takes longer with goaltenders, but Joseph is showing the potential of a goaltender who could one day become a solid starter in the NHL."
Projection: Starting Goaltender

#10 - LW - Remi Elie - Texas Stars (AHL) 6'01" 209
HFNHL Draft: 3rd Round, 70th Overall in 2013 by the Arizona Coyotes
NHL Draft: 2nd Round, 40th Overall in 2013 by the Dallas Stars
Analysis: "Remi is a power forward who has great puck protection ability and can create offense for himself and his teammates. He handles the play very well down low and in an 18 game stint in the NHL he proved his ability to be an effective NHLer with 7 points in 18 games played. He looks poised to turn the corner in his career and become an effective winger at the NHL level."
Projection: Top Nine Power Winger

#11 - G - Tyler Wall - UMass-Lowell (NCAA) 6'03" 216
HFNHL Draft: 2nd Round, 58th Overall in 2017 by the Arizona Coyotes
NHL Draft: 6th Round, 174th Overall in 2016 by the New York Rangers
Analysis: "Tyler quickly went from a goaltender with great potential playing at an unproven level, to one who put his potential on full display in his freshman year at UMass-Lowell. He played 37 games and posted extremely impressive numbers finishing in the top 10 in GAA. He has size and has great positional awareness and reflexes which make him an intriguing prospect and one who is already showing a ton of potential as a freshman."
Projection: Starting goaltender

#12 - W - Robin Kovacs - Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL) 6'00" 176
HFNHL Draft: 2nd Round, 40th Overall in 2015 by the Arizona Coyotes
NHL Draft: 3rd Round, 62nd Overall in 2015 by the New York Rangers
Analysis: "Robin showed very successful in Sweden being named the top junior in the Allsvenskan league (Sweden's second men's league) two seasons in a row before making the jump over to North America. It has been a bit of an adjustment for him, but he has shown his offensive ability. He is a quick skating, creative forward who is capable of putting the puck in the net. He also can set up his linemates and plays an offensive minded game."
Projection: Top Nine Winger

#13 - LC - Roope Hintz - HIFK (liiga) 6'02" 183
HFNHL Draft: 3rd Round, 81st Overall in 2015 by the Arizona Coyotes
NHL Draft: 2nd Round, 49th Overall in 2015 by the Dallas Stars
Analysis: "Roope has great durability playing all three forward positions and playing an offensive and defensive role for his team. He was never selected to play big international events before back to back trips to the World Junior Championship. As a 20 year old Roope lead the playoffs in scoring in Finland's top men's league. Roope has signed with the Dallas Stars and will come over to North America next season. He has the potential to become and second or third line forward at the NHL level. ."
Projection: Top Nine Forward

#14 - LD - Logan Stanley - Windsor Spitfires (OHL) 6'07" 227
HFNHL Draft: 2nd Round, 48th Overall in 2016 by the Arizona Coyotes
NHL Draft: 1st Round, 18th Overall in 2016 by the Winnipeg Jets
Analysis: "Logan is a big physical defenseman with exceptional size. His season was cut short by a knee injury and didn't appear to be playing 100%. He is primarily a shutdown defenseman who shows a little bit of offense, including a strong first pass and a good shot from the point. Logan's upside stands as a second pairing defenseman who plays a shutdown role."
Projection: Second pairing shutdown defenseman

#15 - RC - Mason Appleton - Michigan State University (NCAA) 6'02" 201
HFNHL Draft: 6th Round, 171st Overall in 2016 by the Arizona Coyotes
NHL Draft: 6th Round, 168th Overall in 2015 by the Winnipeg Jets
Analysis: "Mason is a big centre who has had a lot of success with Michigan State in his sophomore season leading the team in scoring. He has good puck possession ability and controls the puck well with his big frame. He has good goal scoring ability and can set up chances. He also plays a solid two-way game down the middle. He has the potential to one day become a second or third line two-way centre."
Projection: Top Nine Centre

#16 - RW - Lukas Elvenes - Rogle BK J20 (SWE 20) 6'01" 173
HFNHL Draft: 3rd Round, 64th Overall in 2017 by the Arizona Coyotes
NHL Draft: 5th Round, 127th Overall in 2017 by the Vegas Golden Knights
Analysis: "Lukas is a high skilled forward who has great puck possession ability and creativity. He won the scoring title for U18 player in the SuperElit, Sweden's top junior league. He achieved this despite playing 12 games in the SHL and 21 international games. He possesses great speed and can fly around the ice with the puck. His upside is extremely high. If he reaching his absolute potential it's as a skilled first line forward. However there is a fair amount of bust concern in his game because his style is very one way. He was one of the youngest players drafted in 2017."
Projection: Boom or bust forward with top six potential

#17 - RD - Jordan Sambrook - Erie Otters (OHL) 6'02" 192
HFNHL Draft: 4th Round, 100th Overall in 2016 by the Arizona Coyotes
NHL Draft: 5th Round, 127th Overall in 2016 by the Detroit Red Wings
Analysis: "Jordan is a good sized two-way defenseman. He has the offensive skill highlighted by an outstanding shot from the point to be a strong offensive contributor. He also has the size and positional awareness to be an effective defensive defender. With the turnover in Erie, Sambrook will likely become their #1 defenseman in what should be his final year in junior."
Projection: Two-way #4 defenseman

#18 - LD - Niko Mikkola - KalPa (liiga) 6'04" 196
HFNHL Draft: 5th Round, 143rd Overall in 2016 by the Arizona Coyotes
NHL Draft: 5th Round, 127th Overall in 2015 by the St. Louis Blues
Analysis: "At the age of 21 Niko has completed his third season in the top men's league in Finland. He has improved his point totals each of the last three years and continues to develop as a big two-way defenseman. He has decent skating ability and makes a smart first pass. He has good defensive positioning and plays a smart game at both ends."
Projection: Two-way #4-#6 defenseman

#19 - LC - Pettersson, Emil - Vaxjo Lakers (SHL) 6'02" 176
HFNHL Draft: 5th Round, 130th Overall in 2016 by the Arizona Coyotes
NHL Draft: 6th Round, 155th Overall in 2013 by the Nashville Predators
Analysis: "After several successful seasons in Sweden including posting a point per game in the regular season/playoffs this past season, Emil has signed with the Predators and will be coming over to North America this year. Emil has a good combination of skating and size. He has good puck skills and can create offense. He's a player we expect to eventually fill into a third line role in the NHL."
Projection: Third line forward

#20 - LC - Dylan Sadowy - Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL) 6'01" 181
HFNHL Draft: 3rd Round, 66th Overall in 2014 by the Arizona Coyotes
NHL Draft: 3rd Round, 81st Overall in 2014 by the San Jose Sharks
Analysis: "Dylan struggled a bit offesnsively in his first season of pro hockey. He had a good short stint in the ECHL and spent most of his year in the AHL. He has good goal scoring ability, but is a very strong defensive forward, playing a great role as a two-way centre. He will likely play a bigger role and have a more productive season and projects to eventually become a player an NHL team could slot into the third line centre role and can contribute with some goals."
Projection: Third line centre
