I posted this on the Oilers board a couple months back but I'll post it here too. Tetris Effect is the most gorgeous video game ever made and is a must play if you own a PS4.

So all day today, I have Sprint(please no jokes about that), my phone has bounced from actual time to early morning time not even hour wise but minute wise. Ie it's 3:54pm but it could be 9:59am any moment. Anyone else with sprint having this issue?

Today, I got to witness firsthand why vertical ventilation (aka firefighters destroying your roof for no reason based on science) is actually a pretty terrible idea. We had a TIC (thermal imaging camera) on the simulated fireground, aimed at the fire room. Opening a hole in the roof, then entering the (simulated) building through the front door elevated the temperature of the original burning room from around 400 degrees to 1,200 degrees in under 20 seconds.

Then why do they do it?

We don’t anymore. The theory behind it originally was that because heat rises, vertical ventilation would allow smoke and hot gases to escape into the atmosphere and make the interior cooler and a safer environment in which to attack the root of the flames. It actually achieves the exact opposite.

Eh a lot of this isn’t factual unfortunately.

And to say we don’t cut roofs anymore is completely false, unless you’re not talking about the valley.

Super heated gases and smoke is certainly a reason for ventilation but one of the more profound reasons is to assist rescue on visibility.

Certainly there’s new tactics coming into play more recently, but roofs are cut on almost every residential house fire. In the valley atleast.

Edit: I bet you’re talking about Payson, since that’s where you live. If that’s the case, I believe they adopted the Phoenix volume 2 manual. However, they may not cut anymore for the lack of resources. But vertical ventilation is a primary function of a ladder company. Unknown if those are available up there.

I'm still learning, so don't mind the corrections. As for ladder companies, Payson doesn't have any ladder companies but Hellsgate has a ladder. They don't staff it full time though.

This band looks like they belong in the 80s.

I think it's really "she and her band", but at any rate, re the 80s comment, yeah you can tell she hung out with David Byrne a bit...

I was on the fence about her for years, until she released this, which I really really liked (fun fact, the song supposedly refers to her ex-gf, the girl lead in that movie "Valerian". I can see why she'd lose her mind after losing her)

My wife and I lost our 16 year old cousin in a car accident, he was a bright young man with a soft heart that unfortunately got wrapped up with the wrong people. It's been a heartbreaking experience and I am trying to spread the story as far as I can.

I am not asking for donations, I'm just asking for any of you with any kind of social media accounts to share his GoFundMe link (below) wherever possible. I appreciate you guys, thank you.
