Well he wasn't really very good last year and pretty bad in the playoffs and he's old AF so ya, probably makes sense to move off of him. Suarez is a very streaky, and flawed player but when he's right he can pop 30-40 and be around the .800 OPS range. Makes $11m and then a club option. Could do worse.

Curious how they'll fit Lawlar into Suarez, Perdomo and Marte. Perdomo and Lawlar can play any of 3B, SS, 2B. Not sure about Suarez. Plus they still have an open DH spot, but they also want to go after a RH OF, so it'll be interesting. Almost too many decent choices, but that's way better than not having enough.

3rd baseman exclusively.

he was pretty terrible last year. In the Mariners stretch run when they were fighting to get in, i remember he struck out in so many key situations and barely put up a fight or pressure on the pitcher most times.

Only schwarber struck out more than him, but he at least 47 homers. that said, I'm sure he'll rebound a bit.
