Very technique-oriented goalie that combines quick reflexes with sound positional play. Superior core and lower-body strength exhibited through quick cross-crease pushes and smooth lateral movement. Quick glove hand that doesn't get beat very often. Isn't very scrambly and accurately predicts where the puck is going to hit him and where it will be redirected to if he doesn't hold onto it. Analyzes odd-man situations well and is always a step ahead. [EP]

Should be 1B to Stolarz next season, but who knows. He's a year older.

Very exciting signing given the **** show that was Jason Labarbera this season.

He was also selected for the US Men's World Championship team last year. Could possibly get invited again depending on who is available.

I was hoping we'd pull him in. I doubt he'll get a year burned off his ELC, this is a playoff race he and the team know they can't be screwing around with stuff like that.

So it only burns a year if he plays in an NHL game, not an AHL game?

Great signing. It almost seems as if Hextall is trying to build goaltending depth similar to the defensive depth. This could make for interesting in a couple of years when all of these goalies start challenging for positions within the organization. Great problem to have.
