Two-way forward with some playmaking potential. Strong skater with good balance. His decisions with the puck are smart – he rarely turns the puck over. Shot blocker. Good lead forechecker. Protects the puck well. Offensive production dropped after the Prospect’s game but scores “big†goals. Abrasive player won’t ever be an NHL scoring star, but you win with character players like him in the lineup. His weaknesses are, questionable hockey sense, vision and hands. Showed improvement throughout the season and played relatively well in the playoffs, including the Memorial Cup. Plays a very intelligent defensive game. He is a consummate checking winger who projects to be a third line player at the pro level - a valuable defensive commodity who can chip in offensively. He competes hard every shift and finishes his checks on a regular basis. He is a solid, consistent player, scouts feel comfortable when assessing his value because they know what they are getting - a very dependable, responsible player with leadership qualities.
