Books: Any good poets, who use colloquial, street, slang language?

Since Lydon was brought up, Mark E. Smith is a pretty timely guy to mention right about now.



Mark E. Smith--that's a good one and Hex Enduction Hour is probably my favorite Fall record. There is no one in the music world remotely like Smith was.

If you just want to read though--Nicanor Parra the anti-poet is pretty good, very funny, sarcastic, irreverent and plain just didn't give a f***. He just died recently too.

Which brings us to Charles Bukowski--he didn't give a f*** either. Lots about work and bar flying.

And the last would be Sesshu Foster--well worth checking out too.

big fan of this guy. not sure if it was what you are looking for but he has some real blunt stuff mixed in with a lot of positive.
