So I've been using the same skates for the past 4-5 years, and of course, the blade got quite small from all the sharpening and punishment it took over the years. Well they finally gave out a few weeks ago, and I had a new pair waiting in my hockey bag for this moment.
The problem I find is that my new skates have blades that are about 1.5-2 inches in height. My older ones I would estimate were about 0.75 inches. I felt I could generate more power (it might be just personal preference) before, and I'm finding it hard to get used to the extra inch or so. I know I'll get used to it eventually, but I would still like to know if it is possible to shave maybe half and inch off the blade without too much trouble.
Thanks in advance!
