Why aren’t any of them getting hired then?

serious question!

Not getting hired, that's not much of a test...doesn't mean they are not talented, talent has to be recognized, developed and utilized (but we are not doing that hey). Our Q developed coaches are all over the NHL. We have one of them.

I'm sure there are a few good managers in the Q.

Habs hired the two best from the Q - Dom Dom & Jo Jo.

There’s a reason the Q has generated amongst the fewest NHLers over past 15-years, it’s one of the weakest development programs in NA - way behind OHL & NCAA. It’s not a progressive or innovative league, still stuck in the past...

That's bullshit. The talent in the Q is fleeing to soccer. Macroeconomic reasons explain the lack of output, not the quality of the league lol. Want more players like Mario Lemieux and Lafreniere? Double the number of kids...and maybe change the structure when they are young.

Also, the gene pool, Quebecers are smaller on average than the rest of Canada = makes a difference in number of compatible athletes with the NHL. Lots of Desharnais and Hudon.

Why aren’t they fleeing OHL, which had produced the greatest amount of talent or the USNTDP which has been rocketing up the past 15-years and is set to overtake OHL?

It’s investment...that’s why, going out spending $ to hire the best & brightest from around the world which is what the American system does best

That right there is the problem OHL is not about Ontarians, USNTDP is not about a certain state or region, it’s about attracting the best & brightest from anywhere, not restricting talent search to a province...

Duh they are, it is well documented.

Good thing you mention the US, they have 3x-4x the number of youth playing hockey in the last 30 years. Proving my point.

How many of those youth at prep school, USNTDP and NCAA are non-AMERICAN? How many of the coaches, training staff, administrators are non-AMERICAN. A significant amount...now compare that to the Q

The world today is a global highly competitive society, restricting to a provincial mentality is only minimizing probability of success

Nobody is refusing talent in the Q, for wherever it would come.

1) It is too costly to play hockey, the price has doubled in the past 20 years. doubled.
2) Others options are gaining popularity and critical mass, increasing the odds that the few good athletes we have will choose others sports.
3) The lost of the Nordiques, means halving the number of top-league training for french speaking coaches and managers.
