Yeah, but he may have become more open-minded to analytics if he made it to the second round of interviews. In the last year or so of his tenure as a manage, he admitted to reading Fangraphs which is a bit of a concession on his part and ability to reevaluate his approach..

I have no opinion on this hire but it will be interesting to see how this works out for Preller. Every move he makes has been against the grain and it hasn't worked out too well.
