Dave has longevity and a Cup ring on his side. While Marián has been there back to back years and could not retrieve the valuable prize.

Who will be considered as the better player of all-time?
David John Andreychuk or Marián Hossa

IMHO Hossa has Andreychuk beat in all facets of the game. And that is not a shame, Hossa is a star.

Perhaps on ice, but Hossa won't get close to Andreychuk's leadership ability. Not only was he a great on ice captain but also almost single handedly (along with Tim Taylor) changed the culture in the locker room. His contributions to the 04 Cup team can't be understated.

Andreychuk wasn't much of a leader until he was well into his 30s, so who knows what Hossa will become?

One is 13th on the all-time list for goals scored, one is not even in the top 100. So far I'm not so sure Hossa has done much at all to be remembered for. At this point Hossa's biggest chance at making history is probably Chicago losing in the SCF.

Numbers lies. Andreychuk was a compiler.

Andreychuk was far better than Hossa at playing for a long time in a high scoring era.

IMO it will be Hossa without a second thought when all is said and done. Think about this right now, if you were a GM and had to pick one for your team who would it be? Hossa should be the majority pick.

top 10 scoring finishes:
Andreychuk - 9
Hossa - 5, 6 so far

Hossa also has a 2nd team all-star at RW in 2009. Andreychuk has none in his career despite being at a relatively weaker LW position.

Not to mention Andreychuk was a woeful playoff performer in comparison to his regular season numbers. Hossa has not been great either, but the last couple of years have helped his reputation a bit even if he floundered in the 2009 final.

Hossa is a more dangerous player who didn't rely on a strong center either in his career. Defensively he is superior as well
