Panarin may have assaulted a woman, but he's your hero. Ok.

Good look.

Nazarov was just big and dumb (and still is). And he managed to get beaten by Tie Domi. That must be the biggest mismatch in an NHL fight where the outcome is a one-sided win by the smaller guy

Seems no one in the world is dumb enough to believe these ridiculous accusations that everyone who was there said never happened.

Well, almost no one.

From all indications Panarin lightly shoved some girl. For as innocuous as that may seem, he also has a history of making public jokes about blacks.

Just because Nazarov is a repugnant ****bag doesn't mean you should put Panarin's personal integrity on a pedestal either.
He's a great hockey player, and I admire is political outspokenness (even though Navalny is scum too) but Panarin is not the sharpest tool in the shed.

So let's examine your logic here. You say Panarin made jokes about blacks so that means that one of Putin's goons can fabricate a story that he seriously beat up a woman for no reason and try to ruin his career.

You don't think Panarin is that mentally sharp? I must have missed Sidney Crosby's Nobel Prize in Physics ceremony.

I'm saying don't put Panarin on a pedestal because of what Nazarov did. Nazarov is a pile of feces and his accusations are vile, but that doesn't mean Panarin is some sort of upstanding citizen.

You sound just like everyone who ran the league back when he played.

That Beukeboom one was nothing, even after ditching his jersey. Rob Ray, McSorley and others used to always do that purposely, but it broke there.

I don’t mean to stir anything up here, but Russians will be the first to tell you that casual racism (and other derogatory humor aimed at women, gays, people with disabilities, etc) is much less controversial in Russia than it is in North America.

Is that a good thing, of course not. But this guy didn’t grow up in Brooklyn or something. He’s from the Siberian plains bordering Kazakhstan. We have to be realistic about the culture gap between that and the West.

What were the jokes? Since he apparently has history of doing it....

In other words, it's like it used to be here until recently but now we're morally superior and can only make derogatory jokes about straight white men.

Panarin supposedly made jokes about black people but he probably never saw one in his life until he came here.

Nazarov has a terrible record but has one of the most impressive fight cards I've seen. The guy fought everyone.

So did Barnaby. They had the great honor of losing to everyone. At least Barnaby seemed to enjoy it.

Nazarov had way more heavyweights on his card though. I don't believe Barnaby enjoyed it. I once saw him cry after a fight against Asham. He seemed to have issues. So did many tough guys. It's one of the most stressful roles in sports. Not a coincidence many of these guys took painkillers and other drugs.

Barnaby was constantly waving the linesmen off while losing fights handily. He was a horrible momentum killer. I'd have to see him actually cry after a fight before I'd believe it.

You already said that. That doesn't mean the video magically appears before my eyes. They fought more than once. I never saw any crying.
