Always loved Markov,he was a true warrior for the habs, also hated how bergy did not sign him and gave is money to Alzner. But yea at 40 with how bad a beating is knees took over is career i dont see him playing a full year in the nhl.

Meh. He was the man for a few years but i cant see why the Habs would be interested now.

But meh .. maybe on 1 year / $1mil deal to play on the bottom pair and mentor the younger d ..Maybe.

I wouldn't even be surprised if he came back and was the Habs third best defender, but you never know how players age. I haven't followed him in the KHL.

Don't the habs have a shit ton of cap space? Nothing wrong with 2M for 1 year, give him a signing bonus of like 1M, and then after his 10 games if he sucks have a handshake to mutually terminate the deal or he retires and it doesn't impact the Habs cap.

Like I been saying for a while. The Habs had almost the worse in the league power play last season what have they got to lose? Cap space! They gonna burn 3 million of it with Alzner sitting in Laval all year. And still have six or eight in cap space left. 2 million one year, play that 1000th game, have a big party and reduce his minutes to the power play. End of the year or sooner he retire, and become the power play coach.
