Player Discussion: Andreas Johnson

Hey Guys, I was wondering if you could fill me in on Andreas Johnson. I can't help but notice his terrific start with Frolunda, but have never had the opportunity to see him play. From all stats and info I can find he is a little guy, but what sort of attributes does he bring to the table?

Is this just a fluke start or is he legit? And if he is legit, how did he fall so far in the NHL draft?

Any insight would be appreciated.

His lack of size and the fact that he'd only played in the U20 league made him drop.

He has terrific offensive awareness and puckhandling skills. Not super speedy, but shifty enough to get himself some seperation from opposing defensemen on the rush. Battles hard in front of the net, he's pretty fearless actually. He acts like he's a much bigger player, sometimes getting in the face of opponents. In tight on the goalie, he is excellent at elevating the puck.

However, he still misses on a lot of chances from a bit farther out.

He's certainly making Leafs Dir Of Amateur Scouting Dave Morrison & Euro Scout Thommi Bergman look like geniuses at this point.

Can he keep it up though...?
