Maybe it's just me but I don't see the explosive stride and confidence that we saw earlier in the year. I also don't like him with Krejci at all.
The explosive stride is not there because ......The game is just too big for him right now. He is a small fish now skating with way bigger fish then he is used to. And he cant outskate them like he did in college and the things he was good at in college like dominating the puck, he cant do now.......Needs to be sent down. We dont have room to train him on the job.

The team is gonna be way better with Agostino or Szwarz or a grinder instead right?

Stick with him, maybe a night or two in the pressbox, and reevaluate mid January if hes still in a slump. Of all our players not scoring currently I have the least issue with Bjork in his very limited icetime just returned from a concussion.

I could go either way with him.

If he got sent down I wouldn't be "OMG what is Sweeney doing"

And if they leave him up and learn on the job, so be it.

I would like to see them switch out him and Backes. I think Backes with Nash has run its course already, and Bjork could benefit from some easier match-ups on the 3rd line.

I think he needs time to get up to full speed, and I’m not sure if that would be served in Boston or PRO?

I guess the question is whether or not there is a better option in PRO, or whether Bjork at 80-90% can get it done until he’s fully recovered.

i think he needs some time to develop more in Prov and gain confidence. In the interim, when he is recovered i think Cehlarik is more NHL ready and should be given a shot with Krecji and DeBrusk.

Boston Herald

Cassidy benched Bjork in the second period of Thursday night’s 5-3 loss to Washington. Bjork will likely watch the Rangers games from the ninth floor and could be sent to AHL Providence.
“He hasn’t been a healthy scratch yet and he hasn’t been to Providence, and those are discussions we will have internally,” said Cassidy. “We’ll do what is best for him and best for the Boston Bruins.

Still very high on him. He got hurt right as all the rookies started breaking out. We'll have an injury at some point, he'll get his confidence back up.

It's the only reason he was sent down. At the end of the day, he's still a young highly skilled player with big upside.

I thought he's been pretty good lately, but this isn't a bad thing for him. Bruins are in a roster crunch, and as he's not eligible for waivers, and not currently penciled into the line-up, he was the clear odd man out.

This puts the Bruins at 23 players when everyone is healthy. I'd expect McQuaid will be activated now if he isn't already

Love this move and called for it awhile ago. Let him get his game back in Providence and battle Cehlarik for the next call up.

I don't think they are going to carry 8 defencemen.

This move saved them $450k which now means they could add a $5 million contract at trade deadline. Make the same move with Postma and you are looking at around $6 million at deadline.

Hopefully not.

They did last year (Chara/Carlo/Kevan/Colin/Krug/McQuaid/Liles/Morrow) and I think it was a mistake. That 8th guy (in this case Morrow) sat WAY too long for my liking.

Fingers crossed they learned from that, not to mention the deadline flexibility you mentioned added by waiving and then assigning Postma if/when he clears.

Thats great news hopefully Bjork lights it up and forces the Bruins to bring him back up sooner than later but its so nice having such depth as both Bjork and Cehlarik could be skating in the NHL for other teams.

For those who attend or watch the Providence Bruins, you are all in for quite the treat. Bjork’s vision, hockey-IQ, hands & ability to finish are going to make him an instantly-productive player in the AHL.

There are players who aren’t nearly as skilled as him who score and produce at an impressive-clip. In my opinion, Bjork is on a whole different level when it comes to talent, compete-level & readiness— he’s a dangerous weapon for Providence.

Not sure if he will assume his role on the RW, or move over to the LW, especially with Cehlarik back in the picture. The line of Agostino-JFK-Cehlarik was lights-out to start the season, so Jay Leach might be inclined to put them together again.

However, I still maintain the standard of Bjork being NHL-ready and playing at a much-higher level than the AHL. There are just simply too many young-players who are producing and playing well for Bjork to take a spot from.

This move is a much better alternative than him sitting in the press-box and not playing.

I think with young players, 19, 20 or 21. The B's coaches need too stay with them and let them get use to playing with the big boys. It's the only way you build your character.

On a rebuilding team I’d agree with you. Boston isn’t rebuilding though, they’re looking more and more like a contender int the east.

Bjork looked great early on, I think the injury rattled him a bit. Playing some high minutes down in Providence should help the confidence out. If nothing else they can work on his habit of skating through the neutral zone puck gazing down there. Be much safer!

There will be lots of injury call ups to come, he’ll be back sooner than later

Yup not worried about this at all. He'll be back and better than he was before. Providence and the coaches have done wonders with the youngsters, I expect that trend to continue. Providence should really not lose a game though.

The thing is.... He's a pro player, not an AHL player. I don't want to see him take a step backwards..... I want to see him continue to play up. He can offer the B's a heck of a lot more than Shaller, Accari, Spooner, Nash.
