Calgary gets Corey Perry with salary retained to get him to 6.75 mill. Calgary also gets Jakob Silvferberg

Anaheim Gets Sam Bennett, TJ Brodie and Adam Fox.

Who adds? Who Subtracts?

No..... Going all in on a very soon to be 33 year old Perry is not the answer.

Doesn't make any sense for Anaheim. Brodie is the most valuable piece in the deal, but he isn't a need at all. We can't afford to have a guy that is that good (and expensive) on our 3rd pair.

We already have our top 4 solidified and Brodie, while good, just is not a need right now with the emergence of Montour proving he is capable of playing in the top 4.

I’m all for moving perry and possibly Ritchie but I’m not sure we need anything back except some cap space gains to keep Kash, Montour, and resign silfvefberg and Henrique.

If we just use our young guys (terry, steel, Jones, Roy, welinksi, mathura,Larson, etc) we have enough talent and speed. We just need a coach who knows how to use them and break them into the league.

Seems like a bad fit for ANA. Lose 2 top 6 forwards for a defenseman they don't need and a depth winger/center.

The Ducks issue is scoring or lack thereof.. a sub 30 point forward doesn't really do anything to resolve that

Honestly imo this looks like Silv for Brodie which is pretty fair but Perry at 6.75 for Bennett at 1.95? Isn't fair, I'd be interested in a deal around Silv + Ritchie for Brodie + ?

The problem is we don't really need Brodie
Lindholm Manson
Fowler Montour

is a good young top 4, that is still getting better... silf might be trade foder eventually if we choose the stick with Henrique... but Brodie doesn't really fill a need.

Id do Ritchie for Bennet(maybe picks to balance out whichever side is favorable).... teams ultimately just arnt very good trade partners at this point.... outside of something like that the only pieces Id really want are tkachuk or Monahan.... and flames wont be trading them anytime soon.

Well with your lines having an exceptional middle pairing dman on your 3rd line wouldn't be a bad idea, mix and match the dmen and see if you can create 3 balanced lines

This just seems like a bad idea for both sides. I don't like the value from Calgary's end and from Anaheim's end it adds to team strength that isn't needed.

In theory but that also takes money away from our forwards... brodies cap isnt bad but we have fowler manson and montour all getting pay raises this offseason
