Scouting report on the guy? Seems to be producing ok in the AHL, his numbers don’t suggest an NHL future but I’m assuming this is a 100% Syracuse Crunch move for us (and a contract spot move for Anaheim)

Gotta hurts the confidence a bit being dealt for futures.

Future what? A human? A pizza?

Wasn’t there a guy traded for a bus once? At least that’s something you can see!

Basically it's when the two teams decide the player to be traded isn't worth a 7th round pick or another player/contract going back the other way.
Yea, what I'm wondering too is that there's usually a clause or something attached to those future considerations.

Actually, there usually isn’t a clause attached to them. Future considerations aren’t allowed to be picks or players to be named later for example.

It’s more of a “Thanks for doing us a favor, we’ll keep you in mind next time we’re talking a possible trade.”

You can't be traded for a bus, it would be amazing if you could

Syracuse Crunch say TYVM as we need all the help we can get at this point.
What exactly is going on down there?
They also just added Martel and Conacher to the main roster, Tampa had 48 contracts - ie, in theory, should have depth for Syracuse, yet they still felt the need to add Hults...

They just started an affiliation with Orlando of the ECHL and said they planned on giving them 4 or 5 guys on NHL contracts. They've had a bunch of injuries and haven't sent anyone down yet so adding a body to send down or someone else. You typically don't trade for a guy just to bolster your ECHL squad but I think they want to have a good relationship with Orlando. They should've been affiliated ever since Orlando got a team back.

Happened in the WHL years ago, look it up
from nhl.com: On January 19, 1983, the Western Hockey League's Seattle Breakers dealt Martin to Victoria for a used bus and future considerations.

Was future considerations a bus driver for X hours?

How the hell are future considerations ever sorted out/agreed upon?

"Hey, you buy us a new Gatorade machine"

"Ok"

Trade complete

It’s nothing. Literally nothing.

They call it “future considerations” because they want the recipient to consider (remember) this nice thing they did when they’re negotiating again in the future.
