For anyone curious, Volkov makes the minimum for this year, and he will be an RFA with arbitration rights.

Volkov would need waivers I think so maybe it means Z or Steel is going down.

I haven't seen him play much and have no opinion on what this means, but how on earth do you manage a 39.9% Corsi while getting 63% offensive zone starts?

Why would this have anything to do with Steel? If they wanted him in San Diego he'd surely be there.

I meant it as I think getting him means steel goes down, not that they made a trade to justify sending him down. It was poorly worded.

Oh, gotcha. Even then I doubt it, I don't think they want Steel in SD. There's a lot of dubious logic to sending him there to regain confidence.

I don't think anyone has to go down or out, there's room and that doubles if this isn't the only move in the near future.

It's better than having him sit in the press box. I doubt they traded for this guy to sit him, unless they are going to sit grant, which I very much doubt.
