How'd the Canucks get a worse return on a guy who should have given the other team more games?

Can’t wait to see Guhle tonight. Duck fans who have no idea who he is are gonna see some serious speed. They’re gonna fall in love with em.

Blues can’t be done. They do not have the cap space even for Del Zotto to be making pick-for-player trades. Thought they would stand pat.

St. Louis
Why does St Louis want this player?

I’m assuming it’s precautionary after we had our 9th string defenseman and a call up from college playing during a playoff push last year due to a string of injuries. Low risk low reward move. Kind of figured we’d be looking at adding depth just in case.

Bob Murray asset management lesson: Sign Luke Schenn to 1 year deal, then trade him with a 7th round pick for Del Zotto, then trade Del Zotto for a 6th round pick. You turn a 7th round pick into a 6th round pick.

It sounds better when you say it fast. The difference between your 7th that you used to trad for him and St Louis's 6th might be 15 spots late in the draft, somewhere around #205 as opposed to #220.Basically no difference at that point.
At least you did recoup a late pick that you spent to get MDZ,which is something.

I think they were trying to get a 5th. They were likely hoping a team would pull a Dallas & overpay for a depth Dman cause of injuries that happen leading up to the deadline (Pitt for example).
The Ducks take every pick very serious, if our scouts really like someone in the 5th round they could trade both 6th rounders to get another 5th rounder.
