“Our crappy player is better than your crappy player.” That’s literally duck fans right now. Neal is likely bought out at seasons end. Duck management isn’t buying out Henrique and he isn’t being claimed. Enjoy the player who’s better than James Neal.

anaheim front office and ownership has zero patience for big contracts and salaries anymore. they dumped perry, keslers hips pretty much gave out after a massive extension, henrique has a massive extension and already on waivers, and sounds like they want to move getzlafs salary too but doubt he wants to go anywhere

Canucks already have 2 competent centres, you really want to pay Henrique $6m a season for the next 3 years to be your #3C? Loui only has 1 year left after this.. You are basically adding his contract for additional years.

lol.. i know this concept will be mind blowing to an Oil fan, but a team actually has four centres

There is absolutely no reason or need behind contracts longer than 4 years.

You should be a GM and offer everyone 3 years while other teams offer 4-6 and see how much you enjoy never getting a single player.

I wouldn't go so far as to say never offering contracts that length but for this tier or player I suspect we'll see these deals phased out.

100% false. Considering TSN just came out and said the Ducks don't intend to ask Getzlaf to waive and the only way Getzlaf is moved is if he approaches management

Not sure exactly what you are basing your "sounds like" on, but the Ducks have said time again (including quite recently) that they will not ask Getzlaf to waive his NMC.

It's actually getting insane at this point. It doesn't seem to matter how many reputable sources confirm that both Getzlaf and the Ducks have absolutely 0 intention of parting ways, there's always still people that are CERTAIN that at least one side is looking to move on

Getzlaf - "Zero intention of leaving Anaheim"

Ducks - "No intention of asking him to waive his NMC"

HF - "Sounds like they want to move him"

I know that other poster said he'd do it but I personally have no interest. Much more confident in Henrique getting back to form.
Eriksson only has 1 more year after this one, and his salary is significantly lower than his cap hit.
