Hey guys, Canada and USA are practically the same in hockey. Im not upset that sometime some kids decide to be Canadian or Amercian. In WJC, WHC, Olympics when either team is eliminated, I cheer for the other team. USA and Canadians are so much neighbours and we should mind what decision these kids make.

Americans, particularly in the Midwest and New England, this is a friendly Canadian here. I am compiling a list of the top 2015-eligible U.S. high school players and have the following short list:

William Feeney (LD - Dexter, USHS; 6'2", 216 lbs; 26-3-34-?)
Brock Boeser (LW - Burnsville, USHS; 5'11", 174 lbs; 24-21-25-25)
David Cotton (LC - Cushing Academy, USHS; 31-17-32-?)
Alec Broetzman (LC - St. Thomas, USHS; 6'01", 181 lbs; 25-24-22-46)
Adam Gaudette (RC - Thayer Academy, USHS; 6'00", 172 lbs; 24-29-37-?)
Ben Newhouse (RD - Benilde St. Margaret's, USHS; 5'8", 161 lbs; 24-5-28-14)

Any important prospects I am missing? Any goalies I should pay close attention to? Anyone I am overrating/underrating? Any corrections?

Thanks in advance, I look forward to your replies.

Are there any Minnesota High school hockey experts out there? It seems to me that there are a good number of NHL-sized defensemen for the 2015 draft that may come out of Minnesota high school hockey. But, I don't hear really anything about them so not sure they are on radar or should be.

But, I wonder what is thought of:

a) Tyler Jutting
b) Ryan Zuhlsdorf
c) Keith Muehlbauer
d) Jack Sadek
e) Jack McNeely
f) Collin Gallagher
g) John Schuldt
h) Jacob Olson

Also forward:

Minnesota looks pretty well covered from the other posts I read. From New England I would also add:

Callahan Burke, Nobles and Greenough, USHS
Lincoln Griffin, Thayer Academy, USHS
Will D'orsi, St. Sebastions, USHS

3 of the players mentioned have a good shot to be in Cedar Rapids (USHL) next year.

Broetzman, Gaudette, and Burke.

I think this will be a tell tale sign if they are NHL draft material.

2015 MN D class feels very weak to me.

Also, Ryan Norman and Tarek Baker need to be mentioned. Rem Pitlick probably doesn't need to be mentioned at this point.

I would say that's what you get for leaving early but didn't Macinnis leave early too (and he went to OHL while Hanifin went to college - big difference I think)

Yep, he did.

Regardless, it's dumb to sabotage your team to get back at Hanifin for leaving the program.

no Hanifin but Auston Matthews gets invited, should tell you how skilled this kid truly is.

that forward group is simply loaded - so many names left off, but I can't really argue with many on it outside of 1-2. Would like to see Lodge on the list but oh well.

defensively is the weak spot, especially with no Hanifin and DeAngelo. USA Hockey simply will miss the boat again on DeAngelo if they don't give him a chance. Both should be likely candidates again come December, but puzzling to say the least.

like seeing Carlo on this list, that kid is a monster!! the majority of dmen are USNDP alumni - not a terrible thing, but many other kids out there deserving to be on this list over a few names IMO. I thought for sure the Niagro duo would be invited...

goaltending is as strong as I have seen...wow is that a strength IMO.

This team has the chance to be special even with a defense that isn't elite. That forward group is just drool worthy..

MacInnis bolted to the CHL, Hanifin accelerated his schooling to play NCAA. I doubt this is the reason why as they picked a group of dmen that are older overall. Only 1 dman is elgible for next years draft and he is a late 96 in Brandon Carlo who has to be the surprise player on the list right now.

Hanifin will be at the December camp, mark my words.

I'm super happy to see Matthews there. He's just awesome. It should be telling that they invited him over Kirwan, whom many regarded as the better prospect coming into the year.

AD, Thanks for making those points. Was going to break down the draft info by position when I had more time, because the point about the D invites is necessary. Only four '96s among the 14 D invites.
