Not surprising given the connections of the ownership group to Amazon.
I guess we'll hear this quite a lot in the new arena.
Amazon is too A-list (and not really in competition with much of anyone) to need to pay for naming rights.
Unless they have an investment to gain access to things like payment processing, biometrics, agreement to purchase building materials through AMZN business, etc etc. They could pay more for leasing rights actually if they can make more money out of the deal in other ways.
Seattle city council is rushing to vote on a new $1 billion tax for any company that has their name on a stadium.
Uh, it wasn't meant to be serious.First of all that isn't constitutionally legal (you can't single out any company and only tax them) and second of all that's nonsense.
Why not just call the team the Seattle Amazons?
