It's very embarrassing the way he played! Every time they're in the offensive zone and opponent steals the puck from Alzner he literally grab them to slow them down! Watching him made me feel embarrassed!

BTW i'm still waiting to learn the things we did not know about John Scott. One day maybe ...
Actually we heard Molson say it. The big secret apparently was that Arizona wanted to get rid of his salary... No idea how or why Bergevin couldn't say that. It's BS anyways, there was no big secretive reason, just something he said to use as an excuse.

But why did we help them? What was in it for us?

Does CH stand for Comptoir d'Hemmaüs now?

(i know there's no H but ...)

In this new era of transparency the organization admitted that it was because the Coyotes GM wanted to get rid of his contract.

What a waste of time

They got Victor Bartley for us from Nashville.

You know, Victor Bartley. He plays with the Spink twins in Sweden now.

I don't know if this was posted already ...

Hardly surprising.

Twitterverse infamy for "Lolzner".

Buying Alzner out this year will save us $4.6 mil but in 2021 it will cost us $4.6 mil. By then the cap will rise so it would matter. Overall it will decrease our cap by $1.3 mil per year for the next 8 years.

Do it

no way does it happen, MB would look so bad. Unless they really feel they can build a winner next year and badly need the cap space, Alzner will be there next year for sure.

I agree, no way would they buy him out this year. Would have no problem if he got nailed to the bench / put him in the AHL if he is no better than what a minimum contract dman would provide.

The time for catering to veterans should be over!

What if they send LOLZner to Laval, wouldn't it be a better option than buying him out? Do what the Rangers did with Brendan Smith.

he would cost 3.675M against the cap for each year roughly if he's in the AHL vs 10,416,667 in deadcap space over 8 years (1,302,083 for 5 years, 2,427,083 for 1 year, 4,427,083 for 1 year)

So (14.7M over 4 years) or (10,416,667M over 8 years).

I'd take the bitter pill over 4 years and call him up only in case of injury, which should mean that any time spent on the NHL roster would help offset that 14.7M.

If you're trying to win, you stuff him in the AHL until 2020 unless someone gives you a player they don't want which could be a good swap.

But if you're trying to get great draft picks, you keep him up and play him.

with his contract being so front loaded, 16.625M in the first 3 years (f*** me that's crazy) in salary, his last 2 he gets 6.5M over 2 years so maybe you could move him for another bad contract to a team that wants someone with a higher cap hit if we retain.

Would be surprised if we could ever get a draft pick for him.

No point in trying to buy him out now. We want to keep sucking for another 2-3 years, we can look at buying him out by then.

agreed.

not sure cheap ass Molson would but having him around to help the kids in Laval would be better then paying him to sit on his ass for 8 years.

He has a partial NMC dont think he would want to ride the bus with the kids.
