Its amazing to watch the trainwreck that is Bears right now

They make the White Sox look stable and well organized. That's is how bad it has gotten

As for Jeffery ,, Bad time to have this happen with his already murky future in Chicago and inability to get a longterm deal

Not ideal heading into free agency.

His team and QB play has been bad but I don't think he has been at his best either this season.

Bears have been a train wreck for almost 30 years now.

Their most recent one started when they decided Jay Cutler was worth 120 million dollars. :shakehead :help:

I'd say Denver got the better end of the Cutler deal but really nobody ever panned out from that trade. Denver may have only won it because we didn't pay Jay the money.

False

A large chunk of that 30 years = True ,, But they did have competitive football under Lovie Smith and during the Ditka years

Actually plenty of people wanted Lovie gone ,, We miss the stability he brought but guy forever will be remembered for his inability to understand offense in NFL and for his absurd loyalty to Rex Grossman in 2006

Yea I forgot they stayed competitive up until Ditka left, should have said 25 years. & yea I suppose they had some good runs under Lovie, but it all went downhill after they canned him.

There were some painful Ditka years at the end though too. I remember loving the Bears and watching some of those hard-to-watch games. CBS had the Bears on with John Madden like every Sunday for us to watch them flail.

Not really true on Ditka. Only in his final year did they really fall off and a lot of that was some of the older guys dropping off

Ditka as coach

1982 = 3-6
1983 = 8-8
1984 = 10-6 (1-1 in playoffs)
1985 = 15-1 (3-0 in playoffs)
1986 = 14-2 (0-1 in playoffs)
1987 = 11-4 (0-1 in playoffs)
1988 = 12-4 (1-1 in playoffs)
1989 = 6-10
1990 = 11-5 (1-1 in playoffs)
1991 = 11-5 (0-1 in playoffs)
1992 = 5-11

Honestly Ditka could have continued for several more years (And likely would have still done well enough). But Michael McCaskey hated him and wanted to get rid of him for years ,, He jumped on first chance he got in 92 when Bears struggled

It's not the coach. It clueless ownership not being to hire anyone that can run the team and continuing to meddle. Drafting has been a joke, you can't win via FA in the NFL.

Not since the early Lovie teams have they been able to draft consistently.
