I mean...there've been many incredible Canadian athletes. Steve Nash was the NBA MVP, Wayne Gretzky (just to name one hockey player, on a hockey website) is the most decorated hockey player of all time with records likely never to be broken, many Olympians, Christine Sinclair has the most goals of any international footballer period, etc. etc.

He's just starting out. He could one day be if he keeps progressing.

Donovan Bailey was the fastest man on the planet at one point. Greatest hockey players of all time. Mike Weir won the Masters (arguably golf's most important tournament). Bianca Andreescu won tennis US Open. Steve Nash won MVP in NBA. Multiple Canadians have won MLB MVPs. We have many gold medals in other sports at the Olympics.

This guy is the best Canadian Soccer player ever tho, so congrats.

Hockey is a sport with a very limited talent pool. Mostly upper middle class white kids. For every 1 kid who plays hockey 500 play soccer. Can’t compare
