Well this is certainly quite interesting. I wonder why they decided to send Porter down right after they waived Cracknell? I'm assuming Halak is sick again and can't go? That's the only thing that makes sense.

If I'm reading that right hey moved Porter and haven't put Halak on IR...so it was to make room for having 3 goalies on the roster?

Porter doesn't have to clear waivers? I thought he was exposed to them if going back down. I would have expected they wouldn't want to lose both of those guys.

I think this speaks to Backes being ready to go and that the team plans to probably roll with 8 defensemen (when Halak is ready and Allen goes back down).

Yeah now that I think about it, it makes sense. Cracknell hasn't cleared yet and Porter doesn't have to so that explains Porter going down to make room for Allen. Still, I have to wonder what the deal with Halak is. I do believe that he actually is sick, but it is kind of a surprise that they say he's ready to and then all of the sudden he's not good to.

Wonder if they got the tests back and they turned out to be worse than expected. Might as well give him time to get his full strength back.

Allen was at the Wolves game last night. He was dressed, but did not play.
