Four lines, 6 d-men, 2 goalies, 3 coaches (1 head, 2 assistants), 1 FO exec
1 rule, you have to use at least 5 current players.

For example, for the Pittsburgh Penguins...

Robatille-Lemieux-Jagr
Mullen-Crosby-Pronovost
Stevens-Malkin-Hossa
Trottier-Francis-Kehoe

Orpik-Coffey
Carlyle-Murphy
Ulf Samuelsson-Letang

MAF
Les Binkley

HC: Scotty Bowman
AC: Bob Johnson
AC: Dan Byslma

FO: Craig Patrick

Ok so this comes up everytime...
Do these players need to be great on your team? Or just all time? For example does Jagr count on the Caps... Or Teemu on the Sharks?

Assume every player in his prime. (i.e. Brian Trottier on Pens, Jagr with NYR or Wash, Bure for FLA)

Ironically enough, I thought assuming players to be in their primes would help expansion team fans.

I didn't include Barrasso on purpose.
Can't say that is an all time goaltending duo then, if you won't include a guy with a vezina, calder, 2 cups, and the 2nd most american born wins as a goaltender then man. The guy's a ******, I get it, but he was a more talented goalie than Binkley, ANIEC.

Edit: I'd pretty much have your set up but my goaltending duo would be

I dunno, the Cups seemed like more of a product of the team in front of him. The Vezina was the only thing that almost swayed me to including Tom Barasso instead of Binkley. Both were great goalies, but I think Binkley did more with a bad team, and more with the talent that he had.

I'd argue differently, considering that Barrasso is also the one responsible for refining Cam Ward's goaltending techniques, and I'd say Ward is pretty good. Barrasso also won that vezina on the Sabres, and not then Pens, and showed success early in his career. By the time he left Pitt, there was nothing left in the tank, but in comparison to Binkley, he held up a solid level of play over a longer career.

Kipper was/is better. :dunno: Felt like going for actual back ups to go in the back up spot.
while I agree with you, it's probably because 2 totally different times. The guy was so small but super competitive.

I'll always remember that glove save on Smyl.

I can't help it, I'm just a Les Binkley fan. I dunno. It came down to Binkley, Barasso, or Wreggett

Using the 'anyone who's played a game for the franchise' rule.

I'm sure I've missed lots of very good players, particularly from the earlier years.

Bobby Hull - Stan Mikita - Steve Larmer
Michel Goulet - Denis Savard - Peter Bondra
Ted Lindsay - Jeremy Roenick - Patrick Kane
Al Secord - Jonathan Toews - Marian Hossa
Doug and Max Bentley

Bobby Orr - Pierre Pilote
