I keep Lizarazu over Amoros. Let that 98 D together.
I'd also keep the Carré Magique together : Tigana, Fernandez, Giresse, Platini.
And put Kopa with Zidane. Platini could play false 9.
Henry and Papin could share time with Kopa.

w/ Renly's Peach
The fat little Müller - K.H. Rummenigge
Fritz Walter
Gunter Netzer - Stefan Effenberg**
Matthias Sammer^
Paul Breitner - Franz Beckenbauer - Jerome Boateng* - Philipp Lahm
Manuel Neuer

* Hummels / Buchwald / Matthaus (if he’s not in the midfield...hell there’s a ton of other defenders who I could argue for giving this spot instead, but I’m really trying not just list pages n pages of names lol & instead putting together a nice cross-section of Germany's greats from across the generations into a cohesive team...at least on the pitch...if time travel ever let us put them together.

** or Lothar Matthaus...this one is for the lulz, both were great players...though I enjoyed Effenberg more on the pitch than Matthaus...but it would be fun to watch either one's head explode in that locker-room

^ Before his knee was replaced with jello

Walter is objectively worse than some of the more modern alternatives to him, including Özil, Hoeneß, Magath, Haßler, etc. But he was tremendous in his era & a great leader, so I couldn’t not put him in the German all-time team. The best german young player award is the Fritz Walter medallion after all.

Plus I liked having the spread of eras in there. Walter from the 54 team; Netzer & Beckenbauer from the golden generation; Breitner bridging the golden generation to the KHR era of the late 70s/early 80s; before Matthaus/Effenberg & Sammer hit the fold from the late 80s/90s; and Neuer / Lahm / Boateng rounding the team out with a trio from the ever-underachieving mid-2010s World Champions.

United States: Tim Howard, Christian Pulisic, Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey.

That’s it.
I agree.

In all honesty though, our team is awful

Wynalda-Dempsey
Donavan
Pulisic-Reyna
Bradley?
Bocanegra?-Agoos?-Balboa?-Beasley?
Howard

Honestly other than Dempsey, Donavan, Reyna, and Howard there's really no one that has really cemented their place here. Pulisic will for sure be here one day though.

Looking at that Dutch team makes me sad for the state of this current team. Only van Dijk I think of the current crop can really distinguish himself on the level of some of those players (not counting de Ligt and other young players who aren't yet first team regulars). Hoping the next young generation can do better.

Braavos
Pletikosa
Srna-Tudor-R. Kovac-Jarni
Modric-Rakitic-Boban
Skoblar-Suker-Boksic

I'd face anyone with that team and hope for a win.

Oy, on skill alone, it's impossible to leave Prosinečki off the team.

On talent and skill... but overall, nah... And it's not really close either.

A 20-year old Prosinecki was a world class player already, including winning the Best Young Player Award at Italia 90 and being one of the standouts of the Red Star Belgrade team that won the European Cup that year.

A 25-year old Prosinecki was half the player that the younger version was and changing clubs (5 clubs in 5 years, Real, Oviedo, Barca, Sevilla, Dinamo Zagreb).
A 28-year old Prosinecki was already back in Croatia playing for a (strong) Dinamo Zagreb side and losing his starting 11 spot in France 98 to Soldo.

He liked his drink, he liked his cigarettes, and he kept lousy care of his body as an athlete.
As a results, it's all the talent in the world - with questionable success.
He never got to the level of Modric, Rakitic or Boban... All the talent in the world doesn't help if you don't work hard enough.

You could probably swap in Cherundolo for Beasley if you want everyone in their natural positions.

Then and there
Pletikosa
Srna-Tudor-R. Kovac-Jarni
Modric-Rakitic-Boban
Eduardo-Suker-Boksic

I'd face anyone with that team and hope for a win.

Not sure which team Josip Skoblar shoud be elected, but if for Croatia, then I'd pick him before Eduardo.
