I don't know. I think Shore and Pronger would put a good pounding on your bunch of softies. ;)

Gillies & Hextall can certainly mix it up.

Also I have a feeling that Shore might have a little trouble keeping up with Gretz, Jagr, Fedorov & Makarov .... :p

You are aware that Shore was a fine rushing defenseman aren't you? Besides they have to come to him, he doesn't have to chase them down. ;)

Yes, I'm aware, but few in the world have ever skated like Fedorov or Makarov.

Gretz is too smart, and Jagr is both bigger and faster than Shore. :D

Scoring 1 - (LW)-Valeri Kharlamov (C)-Gilbert Perreault (RW)- Aleksander Maltsev
Scoring 1 - (LW)-Doug Bentley (C)-Max Bentley (RW)- Bill Mosienko
Checking - (LW)-*********** (C)-Peter Forsberg (RW)-Gordie Howe
Grind/Two Way - (LW)- Esa Tikkanen (C)- Vladimir Petrov (RW)- Claude Provost

I like my forward lines. Two of the best Soviet Scorers on the top line along with one of the purest playmakers in NHL history.
Second line is the famous pony line, need i say more. Skill and speed all around.
Checking. Hell any line with Gordie Howe is guarentted to be good but combine his reckless playing style and scoring ability with Forsberg who can play very tough and you have 2/3 of a great line.
Grind/ Two way/ Agitating line - best agitator all time in Tikkanen IMO along with Petrov who is considered by many to be the best two way player fromt he sovie union and Provost who was the top two way player in the 1950's i believe.

Defense is weak as there is no player who is a pure goalscorer but it is still quite good.

(D)-Dit Clapper (D)- King Clancey
(D)-Lutchenko (D)- Babe Pratt
(D)-************* (D)-********

Goaltenders are great if you ask me

Hasek in his prime was amazing if you ask me. He could win games on his own.
Pelle well he would be one of the all time greats if it wasn't for a car wreck.

I tried to build my team with a defense first type of attitude.

Shore and Pronger, both top defenseman and former league MVP's.

Niedermayer one of the great and unheralded dman of his generation, amazing skater, gritty, great defensively and good skills.

Leetch, one of the best offensive d-man of his era. Also a clutch player, his performance in the 94 Stanley Cup Playoffs is maybe the best I have seen any player in any sport play in a postseason.

Foote, I hate the guy but respect him. Everyteam needs a guy like Foote.

And ofcourse the great Vladislav Tretiak in goal.

The Devils are proud to select a solid two-way right winger from the Boston Bruins:

Rick Middleton

middleton.jpg

The Devils are also pleased to round out our defense with an all-time great who had the misfortune to have his peak years at the same time as Doug Harvey and Red Kelly. This HHoFer still managed to make 3 first and 4 second all-star teams.
