It is fitting that the oldest university in England (Cambridge), home to a team in the oldest ongoing ice hockey rivalry (vs. Oxford), honour history by drafting both the father and the son; though they have not always been close, they have mended their relationship and the father's jersey number will be un-retired in order that he will be able to present it to his son, in the very same organization he had played his last few seasons with (the Jets/Coyotes)....

Brett Hull
The Hart and Lester B. Pearson winner is the 3rd highest goal scorer in NHL history due to a remarkablly accurate and powerful shot. Most people rank him in the bottom half of the Top 100 players of all time but when it comes to right wingers, there's only three others I'd rather have, one of whom is his new linemate in Cambridge.

The Whalers select from somewhere in Sweden Peter Forsberg.
I think he's TOTALLY worthy of being drafted so early,...

only if he wasn't so injury prone (but you'll get a few great years in a row out of him).

The simple answer is he doesn't slip to the fourth round. He did slip to the third round though.
When something like this happens do we wait for another pick from the same drafter or is the next in line free to go?

Common etiquette is to PM the poster to say he's made a mistake and to re-pick a.s.a.p. but that the draft continues. The pick was made, the next clock starts.

With Leetch gone (who was on the list, but not quite the guy) The Seattle Metropolitans are happy to select from the Chicago Blackhawks defenseman and 3 time norris winner, Pierre Pilote.

The New Jersey Devils are pleased to select the "most physically talented man ever to sport the Toronto Maple Leaf colors"

Frank Mahovlich

"Frank Mahovlich was a talented and classy winger, a large man with the skills and hands of a pure scorer." - HHoF Bio

"There are other excellent skaters in the NHL... But no one else is so elegant, so electric, so furious, so fluid. Other skaters stride, he swoops. They glide, he soars. They sprint, he explodes. Head down, shoulder up, legs churning, one hand on his stick, Mahovlich looks like the Super Continental coming through Saskatchewan, and is almost as powerful and as hard to knock down." - Viva Mahovlich! - Peter Gzowski

"Bobby Hull may score more goals, but no one scores better goals than Frank" - Dave Keon

"That year he was as good a left winger as ever played the game. And his aggressive play set the tone for the whole team." - Punch Imlach on Mahovlich's 60-61 season
