Pick your favorite CHL team and make an all-star team of the best players to ever play for them. It doesn't matter how successful they were in their later careers; just based on their time spent with the team.

theres a stab at it. Being a young team its harder to get as many bog NHL names, but the top line would match any when they were playing junior. Moran, Brendl and Krahn would still outscore any other line ;)

Wow, that's probably the worst defense I've ever seen, and I know a lot of people would disagree with my selections, but I think it would be hard to argue with most of them, even though Jeremy Jackson was a class-A wanker.

Blackned was my 13th forward.

Sutherland, Houde, Benedict, and Blackned were all really close. I think I chose the later guys because I saw more of them. I only saw maybe 10 games the first couple of years but have been a season ticket holder for the last 8 years.

Ottawa 67s

G - Darren Pang, Craig Hillier

D - Nick Boynton, Brian Campbell, Chris Snell, Joni Lehto, Brad Shaw, Denis Potvin, Doug Crossman, Doug Wilson

F - Brett Seguin, Andrew Cassels, Corey Locke, Don McLaren, Gary Roberts, Blake Dunlop, Alyn McCauley, Mike Peca, Jeff Vaive, Jim Fox, Yvan Joly, Peter Lee, Bobby Smith

I didn't see all of these players play of course, mostly basing it on their stats while with the 67s. It was very hard to narrow down the forwards, and their probabaly all centres :D, but whatever.

Nice list Round John, but ... Kelly Chase and Kevin Kaminski? Really?? They would be honourable mentions at best on my list. Mark Habscheid definitely warrants all-team selection over these two. Blair Chapman and Fred Williams also deserve mention on this list. Both were top junior players and unfortunately first round busts. Tough guy list must contain Dave Brown.

Missing from the d-list is Pat Price, a simply dominant defenseman during his time in junior. Great talent. And I would place another Seventies first rounder on this list, Lawrence Sakurak (sp?).

And move Wendel back to defense. He was a scary, scary force as a Blades defenseman and for this listing, should represent the position he played in junior.

Great job. Just some comments from the peanut gallery.

Some omissions from people's lists IMO. Tim Salmon led the OHA in scoring for Kingston in the early 80's - he has to be on the all-time list, particularly over Mailloux, Howson and Himelfarb.

Glen Hanlon was quite a goalie for Brandon in the late 70's, making two allstar teams and backstopping Brandon the the Mem Cup final before falling to Peterborough in double overtime. Hextall never made an WHL all-star team, nor did he lead it to any playoff success. Hextall had a better NHL career, but he certainly wasn't a better junior goalie.

On Saskatoon, Bill Hajt was a solid contributor on the blueline in the early 1970s, and went on to a solid NHL career with Buffalo. Larry Sacharuk and George Pesut were other solid Blades bluelines in the 70's, and any Saskatoon list without Balir Chapman is an oversight.

Speaking of goalies, Bunny Larocque was the best goalie to have ever played for the Ottawa 67's. Montreal GM Sam Pollock thought so much of Larocque that he was picked 6th overall in the 1972 NHL draft. His biggest problem was being stuck behind Dryden for so long, and his game regressed.

I've followed the 67's since the Peter Lee days, and I have a fairly different list.

G- Darren Pang, Bunny Larocque

D - Nick Boynton, Brian Campbell, Randy Boyd, Denis Potvin, Ian Turnbull, Doug Crossman, Doug Wilson, Steve Marengere, Behn Wilson, Bruce Cassidy

F - Tim Higgins, Andrew Cassels, Corey Locke, Steve Payne, Blake Dunlop, Alyn McCauley, Mike Peca, Tim Young, Jim Fox, Yvan Joly, Peter Lee, Bobby Smith, Wayne Merrick, Gary Roberts, Adam Creighton

Honourable mention: Pierre Jarry, Jean Potvin, Shawn Simpson, Bryan McShefferey, Mark Paterson, Sean Blanchard, Brett Seguin, Dan Tessier, Joey Talbot

Togh guys (besides Big Behn): Cava, Hospodar, Simon.

Ahead of Mailloux? Ok, fair enough.

Ahead of Himelfarb? Maybe, but in relation to the teams total goals Himelfarb had one of the most dominent seasons ever for Kingston with points on more than half of the Frontenacs goals last season. He didn't have Kevin Conway and his 62 goals to feed off to like Salmon did.

Ahead of Howson? No. He's one of only five players to get 300 points in a Kingston uniform. The others being Corpse, McKegney, Zigomanis and Crombeen.

Glen Hanlon's last season for Brandon was in '76-'77, and that Brandon team that lost the heartbreaker to Peterborough was the '78-'79 edition of the Wheat Kings. They had Bart Hunter (picked up from Portland) in net for the Memorial Cup.

Hanlon was a solid goalie in junior, but he had the luxury of playing on some very talented Wheaties squads in the mid-'70s, whereas Hextall played for some truly putrid teams in the early-mid '80s.

If you added in the Rockets from Tacoma, you'd have quite a team. Calvert, Egeland, Varga, Prosofsky, Sykora, Hansen, Flichel, Black, Alexeev. Those are all I can think of. Oh and McLaren.

Awesome list man, nice job. I would probably take out Upshall and put in maybe Jeff Sullivan, Didier Tremblay, or Jamie Brown.

Rimouski should have Philippe Sauvé instead of Nicolas Chabot in net.
And definitively Jan-Philippe Cadieux on forward and maybe Ryan Clowe also...
