Brandon Hagel scored a hattrick and two assists in a 5-3 win vs Visp tonight. He also had 2 assists in a 6-2 win vs Winterthur on Sunday. Has 4 goals and 5 assists in 6 games now.

Highlights of the Winterthur game.

Full game vs Visp.

I like Hagel, too but to be honest, as underrated as our National League is...Swiss League is quite the bush league:laugh:
Skating level is still really good but most players are either very young talents with zero experience or just technically limited.
But yeah. Swiss League is still pro hockey and it's hard to score 5 points in one game:D
Hagel really picked up the pace after a slow start. To compare, Pius Suter scored 5 points in 6 games, Edmonton's Tyler Benson 7 points in 7 games. Small sample sizes of course.

Btw. Hagel is playing Center now and it seems to help his point production:laugh:
1 goal, 1 assist in 4 games at LW. 3 goals, 4 assists in 2 games at Center. Thurgau might be up to something?

Move over Dach. Hagel for 1C. All joking aside, this is good to see. Always liked Hagel. He’s a hard working, fast player. There’s definitely a spot for him in this league. I think he’s likely a Carl Hagelin type.

I want to know the potential of the Hinterkircher guy.

Coming out of the ZSC Lions junior program. Played almost 90 National League games so far and that's his potential I guess. Not bad but there are more talented players on the team. Rehak or Hollenstein for example. Defenseman Moor is an interesting project, too. Goalie Bryan Rüegger (not the one that played vs Visp) might actually be the most interesting player. Came in this season as an absolute nobody but has been one of the reasons why Thurgau is leading the league despite essentially playing with 0 foreigners until Hagel arrived.

Hulak is recovering from a concussion and Murphy turned out to be far worse than every random kid they found to reinforce their bruised forward group. Normally, in the Swiss League, you don't have a chance without two strong foreigners.

Pretty interesting. Scouts seem really high on Kurashev given his draft spot.

Also interesting they had Vlasic above Regula for defensive defenceman.

Hagel sounds like he will be a good fit too in the bottom six.

You gotta think Kurashev or Reichel will supplant Nylander within the next year unless Nylander has a huge turnaround.

Also seems like with Mitchell incoming and Dach here already added to Debrincat, there are some really good potential young leaders in the lockerroom.

Ian and Kirby will wear letters at some point.

The way they talked about him, you would've assumed Musto had taken the Hawks scouting department hostage and forced them at gun point to talk up how great Mitchell is.
