London Knights' only goal last night. Boqvist's 8th goal in his last 7 games. Remember when this guy didn't get a single goal for his first 10 OHL games and then it took him weeks to get another? Doesn't seem to be too big of an issue nowadays.

Hawks have 3 of the best defensive prospects out of the top 26 players in PNHLe. Note a few things here, first this guy's system has a grading curve for defensemen to help compare to defensemen, so he multiplies the defensemens' point totals by 1.3. Also, most of these players will have a drop in points due to a small sample size.

Boqvist seems to be one of the few whose numbers will stay steady or improve throughout this season.

The shot was an absolute cannon and hit head up the the whole time.
Goalie wasn't even screened or anything. It was just that fast and heavy of a shot that it made it's way past the goalie.

The OHL's leading goal scorer ,29 yr old free agent Tye Felhaber got 2 more goals today to cap off his 6 goal weekend..The LW now has 35 goals in 32 GP ...he has been without
his top line Center ,rookie center
Marco Rossi (2029 draft eligible) for the last few weeks (Rossi out with an elbow injury) ...I think it is about 7-8 games now. ..but still Felhaber jeeps on scoring g goals. HE still has RW Austen Keating a 19 yr old undrafted player on his line and they still are working well together... AI really like both these players...Felhaber skates really well plus good accurate shot and the hockey sense to get to the right areas for his release .. Keating g is a very good 200 ft player who works hard on the boards ,retrieves pucks, gets it over to Felhaber for shots on goal ..He also sacrifices and blocks shots when on the pk.

Would love to see Hawks try to sign Felhaber.

We already signed 20 yr old Brandon Hagel..another LW...

Still..hard to ignore LWswho can beat goalies with shots..The more of these we can get the better. IT is not like the Hawks can turn down the opportunity
to not go after guys tearing up their leagues because we feel our offense is somehow great...when it clearly is not.

As for Keating...probably goes as a 4th-5yh rounder given younger guys as first time draft eligible will be wanted in the first 3 rounds...though where WHL leading scorer 19 yrvold Brett Lesason gets drafted is up for debate....Lesson and Keating will be 20 yr Olds at draft time will be 3 yrs older thanthe first time draft eligible ..But Lesson has been so dominating the WHL that it is hard to ignore him for even early first round d consideration.

Do you go for younger guys or the Kate bloomers at 20 who are showing their stuff so we you cannot avoid their potential as pros now ?

Krys would be there as well if not for all the games he has missed injury wise...

Scott Powers says Hawks are considering letting Jokiharju go to WJC. I hope they do.
it is up to the GM to decide this and not the coach, so if Bowman goes along with this then not only does JC see something with Joker many of us are not, Bowman is too..I don't really get it at all, letting him go is literally stupid at this point. he won't gain much from it besides eating up tons of minutes against weaker competition than he has on a nightly basis here. if the plan is to send Joker to Rockford then yeah send him to the WJC, but all of this just seems so f***ing odd..

I think they sent him down because they cant trade Manning and Rutta AND they think IceHogs is better environment.

Interesting they had conversation about moving Boqvist to forward but Chicago said they want him playing defense.

yeah not seeing that, kid would likely get killed as a forward...that is a huge transition for a player to make, and though Boqvist is as skilled as can be I want nowhere near a forward position..

Lets talk hypothetical here...could London say screw you to Hawks and play him there anyway or is that just an unwritten rule to not mess with the preferred development curve of an NHL team’s prospect...

sure London could do it, but that is how you burn bridges and would not have players get reported to your team..Hawks would NOT be cool with that at all but not much Hawks could do about it at the time...

It wouldn't happen. Hawks have a good relationship with the Knights organisation and a move like would really make them look bad. Hypothetically if it were to happen, Hawks would probably remove him from the team and send him back to Sweden.

For sure. Mostly curious if the Hawks would just be stuck in that circumstance or send him back to sweden. I cant imagine the Hawks brought the forward thing up and it was probably london’s idea. People would probably flip out if they passed up on Wahlstrom, Dobson and Bouchard to convert Boqvist to wing a few months after the draft because his D needs a lot of work. They already knew that.

Boqvist has been solid on D in London. He looks like a defenseman, I mean ffs we say his defensive ability in the preseason.

Did you read the article? I said it was probably London that initiated the conversation to move him to wing. Why would the Hawks start that conversation. Nobody here said to do it.
