Ill miss Mauro on nxt even if hes way overboard sometimes

Isnt he pretty much the only guy who ever moves the needle for WWE? I heard that he does bring attention plus Vince doesn't want to lose a guy he thinks is a big star to competition.

Yeah, but does he bring in that much more than what they're paying him? How much merchandise sales and network subscriptions are because of him? Maybe he was a big reason for the Fox deal. I don't know. I know Rousey was.

Hell baby
Yeah I agree, I can’t tell if they are doing it to possibly poke fun at his dumbass Lashley/Lana angle? That’s my only explanation for why they chose this for his debut

Gerald Briscoe was let go by the WWE.

from today's pwinsider.com:

WWE Hall of Famer Gerald Brisco was cut by WWE last night.

Brisco had been scouting talent for WWE of late and had been with the company since 1984, when he and his brother Jack sold their shares of Georgia Championship Wrestling to Vince McMahon in a clandestine meeting in LaGuardia Airport, giving Vince McMahon that promotion's TBS timeslot. Over the years, Brisco worked as an agent and had been one of McMahon's closest confidantes.

Update #1:

PWInsider.com is told by several sources that the departure of WWE Hall of Famer Gerald Brisco is part of another round of financial cutbacks for the company.

We are currently working to confirm how widespread the cutbacks will be and whether any talents will be released. It may be a case of the company opting now to bring back those furloughed, but we have yet to confirm that.

Update #2:

Thus far, it appears the WWE cutbacks have been related to office staff who had been furloughed back in April but had not been brought back to work for the company. In the last 6-8 weeks, WWE had been bringing back a small amount of those placed on furlough with some employees returning every week or so. It would appear, based on what we are hearing, that many of those being let go today were some who had been waiting word on when they were returning to work.

We are told that there have been departures all across the board, with live events and travel departments hit hard, obviously due to the reduced need for those departments given the lack of touring brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

PWInsider.com has not yet heard of any talent releases. Whether talent will be part of this latest cutback remains to be seen.

Really poor debut, and it feels like the only reason why Khan bought him in was to cut a promo against Vince. I like Miro or Rusev or whatever, but is he a main event guy? I don't know, and AEW already has a massive roster.
Bloated is the word you are looking for. Every match seems to be some form of tag, 3v3, 4v4, 5v5. It seems like the end of days WCW where everyone was in one faction or another and that was all that was going on every week.

I'm pretty surprised about Brisco. Vince is pretty loyal to his core people.

A couple more well known names were let go by the WWE on Friday.

from pwinsider.com:

WWE Producer Mike Rotunda, 62, was among those who were officially released by WWE as part of today's cutbacks, PWInsider.com has confirmed.

Rotunda, the father of WWE stars Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas, had been with WWE in a Producer/Agent role since 2006.

Rotunda retired from in-ring performances in 2004. He is perhaps best known as former WWF Tag Team Champion Irwin R. Shyster (IRS) and had a long career in the WWF, WCW, Jim Crockett Promotions, the AWA and Championship Wrestling from Florida, including a memorable run as one of the core members of Kevin Sullivan's Varsity Club in the late 1980s for JCP where he held the NWA World Television Championship.

Beyond his IRS Tag Team title run with Ted DiBiase, he and Barry Windham held the WWF Tag Team Championships twice as the U.S. Express.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WWE Producer Sarah Stock was officially released today as part of the WWE cutbacks, PWInsider.com has confirmed. She had initially been placed on furlough back in April.

Stock, 41, had been working as a producer on the main roster. She initially signed to become a WWE Performance Center Guest Coach in 2015, occasionally making cameos on NXT broadcasts as well, before being shifted to a main roster Producer role.

Prior to her time in WWE, Stock had a tremendous international in-ring career, performing as Dark Angel in CMLL and AAA. In the United States, she is best known for her time as Sarita for Impact Wrestling, where she teamed with current WWE star Zelina Vega, then known as Rosita.

AEW signs Serena Deeb. I thought she's a badass since she was willing to shave her head only to get in to SES.

from Friday's pwinsider.com:

WWE is dealing with a new COVID-19 outbreak that has led to training being paused at the WWE Performance Center, PWInsider has confirmed with multiple sources. We are told there was no training today in Florida. There is no word when training will resume.

The belief among several sources is that the outbreak started after a NXT talent threw a party that fellow trainees attended, leading to an asymptomatic transmission of the virus that then spread among those who work and train in the Performance Center. We are told there have been a number of those who have tested positive this week, both trainees and staff.

When reached for comment about the matter, a WWE spokesperson stated, “As part of ongoing testing protocols, WWE completed its second round of weekly COVID-19 testing on Tuesday. Individuals that tested positive will quarantine for 14 days, receive medical care, and then will only be cleared when they are symptom-free and test negative. Additionally, extensive contact tracing has taken place and other individuals have been placed in 14-day quarantine, and will then only be cleared after they test negative.”

WWE’s statement lines up with what several NXT talents have told PWInsider.com, that they have been advised to sequester themselves. Earlier this evening on her Facebook page, WWE NXT talent Chelsea Green announced on her Facebook that she had been diagnosed with COVID-19 but is now free and clear of the virus. Last night’s NXT TV episode was taped yesterday with a number of talents not appearing as originally planned. This coming Wednesday’s episode was also taped yesterday. NXT's next scheduled event would be the 10/4 NXT Takeover live broadcast on the WWE Network, giving the company ten days from today to see if those talents are free and clear to return to performing.

As a safeguard to prevent further spread, PWInsider.com is also told that talents and staff working at the PC or on NXT tapings will not be allowed to work Raw or Smackdown tapings at the Thunderdome in Orlando until further notice.

However, there remains a fear among several we have spoken with that given the potential of asymptomatic COVID-19 transmissions and that NXT trainees were working as masked Retribution members on Monday's Raw taping, that there could have indeed been potential cross-contamination to the main roster. As of this writing, there has been no word that any of the concerns voiced to PWInsider.com have been warranted, but it is certainly within the realm of possibility until a certain amount of time passes. Obviously, with Clash of Champions and Raw just a few days away, the last thing WWE wants or needs is for an outbreak causing major changes to their plans.

Given that several talents who work for AEW have announced they have tested positive for COVID-19, it is certainly within the realm of reason that talents from the two companies crossing paths in Florida may have led to those issues for All Elite Wrestling.

Adidas is releasing a Ric Flair themed shoe.

from solecollector.com:

After dropping a "Stone Cold" Steve Austin-inspired Adidas Dame 6 colorway earlier this year, Damian Lillard is paying homage to another wrestling legend with his latest signature sneaker.

Today, the "Nature Boy" Ric Flair confirmed on Instagram that his special iteration of the Dame 7 is on the way. The shoe wears a bold white and metallic gold color scheme that references some of his classic ensembles he would wear while walking to the ring. Similar to Stone Cold's pair, this does not appear to be an official collaboration between the Three Stripes and the WWE.

The Adidas Dame 7 is set to be formally unveiled by the brand in October, which suggests that a release date for this "Ric Flair" colorway could be announced shortly after.

RVD gone from Impact.

from 411mania.com:

Rob-Van-Dam-645x370.jpg

PWInsider reports that both Rob Van Dam and Katie Forbes are officially done with Impact Wrestling and made their final appearances on last Tuesday’s episode. That ended with Sami Callihan throwing a chair at RVD and giving Forbes a piledriver.

The two are leaving due to their storyline ending, as RVD had been working on a series of short-term agreements and wasn’t actually signed to a contract. The door is open for a return for the pair in the future.
