    Cool.

Let's see if Kraft can grab a Tour win tomorrow.

Hoping this Phil-Tiger $10 million match works out.

The 2019 schedule is an embarrassment. I doubt this new type of schedule lasts more than a few years. Its way too crammed together.

    Crammed in what way?

All I see is WGC, rest, rest, Arnold P, The Players, rest, WGC, rest, rest, Masters, rest, rest, rest, rest, PGA, rest, The Memorial, rest, US Open, rest, rest, rest, rest, The Open, rest, WGC, rest, rest, Fedex, Fedex, Fedex.

Pretty good for the summer part of the season. Then a chance for some rest for players also going for the Race to Dubai, or qualify for it if you haven't played enough ET tournaments during the season. Sensible for double tour players. Golf is not only played on the PGA tour!

The celebrity tournament in Tahoe is good. Romo is up 5 pts on Pavelski on 18, but Pavelski just hit the pin and has 5 feet for eagle and 6 points. Romo has about 20 feet for birdie.

Having a WGC in the USA the week after a major in Britain is a terrible idea. The lead up to the Masters isn't much better. Do you really think the players want a matchplay event two weeks prior to the Masters? That might be their final event before Augusta. And for those who didn't like the way it worked out this year with a Matchplay event two weeks prior to Augusta, the PGA Tour has made it even worse. They've switched out Houston for San Antonio. A lot of players liked Houston because the set up was somewhat similar to Augusta. You aren't really giving the players many options in the run up to Augusta. And then they've chopped off one of the playoff events. I'm no big proponent of the playoffs, but whats the point of doing that? You market this "exciting playoffs with a 10M price", and then a year later you downsize 1/4 of it.

I'm sure the European Tour and European Tour players will love it. Good for them. But there are a lot of top players who only play on the PGA Tour. Tiger, Phil, Jordan, Justin, DJ, Rickie, Jason, Hideki to name a number of them are now basically "active golfers" for one less month out of a year. That is bad for marketing professional golf. And I counted between 25-30 of the top 50 in the world don't play the European Tour. Not only the stars I named above will be active for one less month out of a year, it'll be between 50-60% of the top 50 in the world.

And you very well know this was not done to help out the European Tour. This was done because the PGA Tour seems to think it would be best to end the playoffs before the NFL season starts. First of all, pro American football is a declining sport. The ratings last year were terrible, and I don't think trying to set your schedule up to not interfere with that sport's schedule is a good idea. In the process of this you are undoubtedly losing money by taking an event off your playoff schedule. I suspect that they will lose way more money from having one less playoff event than what they'd gain from having the playoffs earlier in the year. There's also the factor of burnout. Do you remember the Olympic year golfing schedule? By the last major, there was so much less excitement around that tournament. There had just been too many big events in a short period of time.

And maybe the most important question is why should the PGA Tour be trying to set up their schedule to not interfere with another sport. If your product isn't good enough, people won't watch it. If it is, they will. I think its very weak to try to curtail what you are doing to others. Should the NHL try to end the playoffs in April because the NBA playoff ratings are better? I don't understand why the PGA Tour is doing this. It benefits the European Tour, but thats not the reason they did this.

I'd normally just give PB a like, but it deserves a double like. Like I said above, finishing a week before Labor Day and chopping off the playoffs is mind numbingly stupid.

Final of the US Junior Am is tomorrow! The best player in the field Akshay Bhatia made the finals, and is the big favorite. He's been stomping everyone this year. Two wins, a second, no worse than 13th in any Junior event this year. He's a 2020 graduate. Only 16 year old, so lets wait and see, but he's the best player playing on the junior circuit right now. He's also left-handed, which is cool.

Nice round from Tiger. Pretty solid leaderboard outside of a couple nobodies and Poulter.
