That's the Wisconsin Speaker of the Assembly assuring voters they are safe while in full PPE gear after his Republican majority kept the Wisconsin election from being postponed.

Not sure he’ll be as popular as Baghdad Bob though.

Fascinating how the majority of the people on this board can differentiate (and/or separate) between the governments incompetence in responding to this outbreak from political party affiliation. Whereas, one particular poster puts forth a bad faith argument that no other reasonable posters on here would even consider conjuring up.

This poster lives for this kinda nonsense. Never fails to show up in Every. Single. Thread.

None. Of. This. Is. Surprising.

I cant even see the posts and I still know exactly who it is.

Who cares about Obama right now ...we are talkin about Chairman Trump and how his cronies just got trillions of printed money to play with...

Actually, that's not really true.
The $500 billion is required to lend the money, since it finances the guarantees behind the loans.
And these are loans, except to the extent it finances payroll, which in effect becomes a payment to workers.

I am less worried about corrupt deals than preferential lending to influence the 2020 election.
But given the size and scope of most major corporations, easier said than done.
And the "lying media" will be all over this like flies on shit.

And as I noted initially they get to play with the loot and pick winners and losers...whether it is tied to loans is another matter The crux of the issue is they have tons of control with what will amount to pretty much no oversight. Socialism for the rich..capitalism for everybody else.

The cultural wars missed the point, there is nothing wrong with hedonism, drinking, drugs and rock n roll, or sexual promiscuity.

The real cultural issue should be about the decline in manners, not manners as signals of social class, but manners as proper behavior in a civil society, showing consideration for your neighbors, fellow citizens and public workers.

That includes being civil in your interactions, taking responsibility for not trashing the commons, picking up after your dog, making sure your wild party doesn't keep the neighbors up until 4 in the morning, and so on. Fight for your right to party responsibly!

A true conservative doesn't want to turn strangers into proper church going conformists, but insists that norms of proper behavior are important - that preserving civilization requires civilized people. Don't leave your used needles in the park and don't urinate on your neighbor's walls.

Unfortunately, we are seeing a real decline in proper behavior in this country, next thing you know we'll be back to 19th century norms.

Sweden update.

Yesterday they had their highest death total with 76. Today they had 114.

They now have 59 deaths/million. Hotspot Iran has 46.

For countries with at least 3000 cases, Sweden has the 8th worst deaths/million. Who are worse:

Spain
Italy
Belgium
France
Netherlands
Switzerland
UK

Great company Sweden is keeping now.

Firing up Halo:CE remastered. Reach was decent. The voice acting kind of killed it a bit for me.

It took me to long to remember that if you run in a straight line towards anything but a grunt for more than like 1 step, they stick a grenade to you.

Don't remember Reach's campaign much but I absolutely love the Halo games just for the story... never cared for the multiplayer much, even though I'm a huge multiplayer guy. Everything about them is just awesome, especially the music.

I even like the campaigns of 4 and 5 and I'm extremely excited for Infinite.
