I think the Federation can make an argument on pure pay and to let revenue drive what men and women make, but where they completely lose the argument is when travel/hotel/food/etc. aren't equal. Those accommodations/benefits should be the same.

This isn't just specifically about the women because it affects the men's team as well, but this is a result because of the women's lawsuit. This was bound to happen after the stuff that came out the past couple of days. Cindy Cone/Parlow becomes acting President.

On Friday, a judge ruled against the United States women's soccer team in its lawsuit against U.S. Soccer for wage discrimination. The ruling states that the women's team has been paid more—both in totality and on a per-game basis—than the men's team.

"The history of negotiations between the parties demonstrates that the WNT rejected an offer to be paid under the same pay-to-play structure as the MNT, and that the WNT was willing to forgo higher bonuses for other benefits, such as greater base compensation and the guarantee of a higher number of contracted players," the summary reads. "Accordingly, Plaintiffs cannot now retroactively deem their CBA worse than the MNT CBA by reference to what they would have made had they been paid under the MNT’s pay-to-play structure when they themselves rejected such a structure."

Wait, so they rejected a deal that would've been equal to the MNT? So, what was the point of this?

Adopting the MNT system would've meant less job security, which the women considered far more important than the benefits issue.
Right, that was my point all along, that it makes that they'd want a differently structured deal. Now they just look silly because they chose to take a different deal. They offered "equality" and you turned it down.

They had two claims rejected. Unequal pay and unequal playing surfaces.

The third, unequal access to trainers and hotel accommodations, wasn’t outright rejected.

Kinda sounds like this entire thing has been a complete and utter waste of everyone involved time and effort. Looks like there was some pretty bad faith negotiating going on. Women tried to hamstring USA soccer into going above and beyond what the men make and obviously used modern social structures to generate the outrage to try and get them to just bend.
