Boucher needs to clean up the defensive play before the offence dries up.

I think it has started to improve the last 3 games (since October 13th, other teams played 3, 4 or 5 games), at ES :

GA/60 : 2nd (1.21)
CA/60 : 27th (65.09)
SA/60 : 21st (31.74)
SCA/60 : 21st (27.72)
HDCA/60 : 3rd (7.63)

Of course, it is a super small sample size, but nonetheless, I like what I saw in that regard in the last 3 games (that we won too). Compare that with the first 4 games (other teams played between 2 and 5 games during that period of time, I checked until October 12th) :

GA/60 : 31st (4.85)
CA/60 : 28th (69.13)
SA/60 : 29th (36.08)
SCA/60 : 28th (33.96)
HDCA/60 : 21st (12.13)

Gotta still improve the PK and corsi in general.

And before somebody says "it's because Ceci hasn't played", at ES :

CF% : 4th (behind Chabot, DeMelo, Wideman)
SF% : 3rd (behind Chabot, DeMelo)
GF% : 8th
SCF% : 4th (behind Chabot, DeMelo, Wideman)
HDCF% : 4th (behind Harpur, DeMelo, Chabot)

Low for GF% mostly due to several bad goals by the goalies or Boro screwing up. Andy "only" gave 2 bad goals in the last 3 games. The team also didn't score much when Ceci was playing. But anyway, all small sample sizes.

So not among the worst despite missing the best 3 games of the team, despite not being sheltered like Wideman for example, despite QoC (haven't verified but I'm guessing it's as usual), despite lower QoT than others (haven't verified but I'm guessing it's as usual), despite 70.6% of defensive zone starts (wow), hmmmm. It just doesn't fit the HF narrative.

No Stone? No love from Pronman ... my article

Because Stone is over 25

Tkachuk will be on that list soon, maybe Lajoie too and several others could be soon

We don’t have that many under 25 guys on the team right now

Chabot
Tierney
Tkachuk
Lajoie
White
Formenton
Jaros
Harpur
Ceci (turning 25 in December)

The issue I have with Carey is that he's precisely the kind of player I don't want to see near this team right now - a guy who is desperately not trying to make any mistakes so he's coasting around out there not committing to anything.

Interesting Lines from Practice

I think these lines address three important objectives: Gives the Kids prominent roles, spreads out the scoring a bit and relegates P & P to the fourth line

Well done!

Not sure about Paul on the top line, but he's definitely earned a bigger role. Hope it works out. Hope they go 12-6 and Wideman is the scratch. I'd be ok with Wideman over Boro, but Wideman didn't impress me on the left side, and I don't want Jaros on his off side,

Like that lineup. Stick with it for a couple games instead of changing it up every shift. That fourth line should get minimal ice time, all three aren’t NHL players.

Once Pageau is back we could actually set up a nice top nine:

Dzingel - Duchene - Batherson
Tkachuk - White - Stone
Tierney - Pageau - Ryan
PP - Smith - Boedker

Alright, I did the math.

The first 20 games at full price will cost the team $1,115,854

That leaves $3,459,146 still left to pay. 20% of that is about $691,830.

Assuming Gaborik doesn't play a single game this season, we will have paid him an actual-dollars total of $1,807,684 (about 39.5%) while insurance will pick up the other $2,767,316 (about 60.5%)
