On the Winter Classic today....

I agree 100%....Just felt that watching the game we could use more muscle....I know we need both and I could be wrong but watching that game I felt like we would have been knocked around. I know the WC intensity is pretty high as are the playoffs. Went back and watched our series' between the Penguins, and Vancouver and we were pretty mean....and skilled. I get that those games get pretty intense...

Would Sweeney go all in and give up his 1st and 2nd? Would you?

1st and Heinen for Kreider at 50% retained ($2.3).

2nd and Curtis Hall for Toffoli at 50% retained ($2.3).

$1.8 in cap space + Heinen's $2.8 = $4.6.

Kreider - Krejci - DeBrusk
Bjork - Coyle - Toffoli

maybe I'm overly optimistic about Hall but I'd rather keep him. I'm not sure I'd give up a 2nd for Toffoli either. maybe I'm just underrating Toffoli but he doesn't really move the needle much for me. I'd rather go after Josh Anderson when healthy

Don’t mind the ideas but we should try to move a LD man in a deal we have a lot of them in the system

I like Hall too, I’m including him because he looks good. You have to give to get and Hall was the best prospect I could think of that I felt we could part with. There aren’t a lot of available pieces, Anderson is likely not available, so even the meh options are going to cost.

Fwiw, I agree with your take on Toffoli. I don’t really like him as the answer to 2RW, he’s too inconsistent, but as a depth pickup I think he could be sneaky good. Maybe like a Michael Ryder in that regard; a guy who leaves you wanting more in the regular season but who plays a more engaged and determined game in the post-season. i.e. Toffoli goes from averaging about 70 hits per 82 in the regular season to 140 in the playoffs.

Hell baby
I’d have no problem giving up the 1st and 2nd in the right move(s). Just has to be the right move.

Lukewarm on Toffoli but he’s an upgrade

I believe the KHL deadline has passed so he can’t go there. Must stay in NHL or sit out.

I like that you're selling high on Hall,Not thrilled with your target but I can't come up with anyone better...
Kreider to Boston seems about right,he's retained so there's a price to pay, also have to figure NYR would get an extra pick if he signs an extension
Lets get it done

How is Kreider in the shootout? Like it or not, something that seriously needs to be considered with Toronto and TB chasing and the battle for 1st in the East deadlocked

Toffoli or Kreider never shoot so it’s tough to tell

Failed on his one attempt in an 7+ season career.

If the Bruins acquire another top six winger, that problem will take care of its own. With less games going into O.T.,even less will reacquire a shootout. That meaning Tampa and Toronto will be further and further away from the Bruins tail-lights.

See to me that is a ton to give up for Kreider. Perhaps you have the price elevated for the sake of his potential cap retention. I can part with Heinen, and even Zboril, but Lauko is a big stopping point for me. Especially because Kreider is a rental piece. If you are able to have a pre-established extension in place it would put my mind at ease, but no way I do that for a rental.

Ditto for the Anderson deal, just don’t think Anderson is worth that much. I like the player but to give up one of the Bruins most promising prospects and a 1st round selection for a guy with only one solid year is a risky move. All trades are risky that is true, but here I just feel like so much is being sacrificed.

I’m not dumping on you because I know the market is what it is and you always have to overpay (or at the very least typically) this time of the year.

Zboril + Lauko +Heinen for Krieder

A mega over-payment here for a UFA-to-be.

Ritchie for Deslauriers

Not sure why ANA does this trade. Players like Deslauriers are usually dealt for later round picks. While the value for a 4-6th isn't great, it's a lot better than getting a guy you know can barely play in this league. Anaheim also plenty of better options than Ritchie.

Backes +Frederic + 2020 1st for Josh Anderson

Columbus isn't taking Backes. I doubt Backes is waiving to go to Columbus. Even Frederic + 1st seems like a lot to give up for Anderson, who is falling apart.
