Please note that Brooks says the final would have been better had not the league's best two teams not had to face off in the 2nd round. He says that while ignoring that was exactly what happened with the Caps and the Pens the last two seasons.
He also misses that the winner of the Caps Pens won the cup where the winner of Preds Jets still lost to Vegas

His tweet doesn't even make sense. Why did he emphasize ELEVEN? Of course a guy who's won it so many times isn't gonna celebrate it as hard.
Nadal won and literally just put his stuff away quietly. Him winning RG is just another day for him.
So aside from being an uptight asshole he can add being a moron to his resume.
After Ovi and these Caps finish off their 11th Stanley Cup win, I'll ask them to tone down the celly. Until then, this guy Cox can eat a bag of Cox.

We have come full circle. Canadians hated Ov's celebrations as a rookie and after praising him for his emotion in the playoffs are now back to hating on his celebrations.

There's a belief in some circles that the Cup is going to get the gorilla off his back and he'll produce like young Ovie again next season--having fun and no pressure.
I can't see him hitting 60 again. I love Ovie but he doesn't have the same high-end speed and dynamism that he had back in 2008-2011. I do think he'll look like a happier player next season but young Ovie was the most dominant hockey player I've ever seen (I'm in my early 30's, for context).

Yeah, he's not gonna reach that level again, but I can see him have another amazing season like this year with around 50 goals and close to 85-90 points.

Ovie’s happy. Therefore he’s lost his competitive edge and will go back to Russia to play in an inferior league. It’s always something.
That said, he can do whatever the f*** he wants.

If goalie pads keep shrinking down to respectable levels I expect him to easily keep up the goal scoring. Can you imagine how many goals he would have scored in the 80's?

We wont see him being that good again. But scoring lots of goals on a line with 92 and 43 is not that hard.

No reason he can't score 50 again next season with 80+ points. If things bounce right he could push for 55.
