It appears that Grubauer is out long term which leaves the Avs with Francous and whoever is called up from AHL.

I assume Colorado expects a deep play off run, so what are the chances they go for Georgiev to solidify G?

Grubauer was seen walking out of the arena today looking like he wasn't labouring much of an injury. Probably just tweaked something. No official update for a few days and even then, georgiev would cost too much

What was the injury? Plenty of injuries aren't going to show when you are walking around.

You don't go after a 24 year old the Rangers are probably trying to sell as a future starter to some club just to fill a temporary injury gap. If the Avs need a goalie, they'll go after a veteran. Ryan Miller is a plausible name. According to a good poster over on the Avs board, Friedman apparently mentioned after the LA game that the Avs might circle around Corey Crawford if Grubauer is out long term.

Those sorts of rental veteran options make a lot more sense to plug in a temporary problem.

Elliott Friedman apparently said the other night depending on Grubauer injury severity, that the Avs might take a shot on Crawford. Makes sense. He’s UFA at seasons end and would be a low risk shot.

If they decide goaltending is that big of a concern(Highly unlikely) they'll target a UFA Veteran goalie that actually has some solid experience.

Corey Crawford, Robin Lehner, Ryan Miller, Jimmy Howard... etc.

Someone they can bring in to manage the Grubauer injury for now and then play 3rd fiddle come playoff time or when Grubauer is healthy.

But nothing so far has indicated Grubauer will be hurt into the playoffs. And the Avs have no reason at all to believe Francouz cant hold the fort down for now. He has phenomenal numbers for the Avs this year and is absolutely pushing to be a starter in the league. This could.be a chance for him to really push for such a role.

Feel like NYR would counter to dump off lunqvist before parting with georgiev
Problem there is Lundquist signed thru next year, leaving Avs with 3 veteran goalies next year too

Lundquist for Jost would suit coach Q fine

I like that deal. I think Lundquist would be a solid addition for Colorado the next two years.

A far too enthusiastic game of 'smell my fart' with Ian Cole...

/glad to hear that he's doing better. Looked more like an overly twisted neck rather than smacking his head onto the ice (concussion)

If rangers even got just a pick getting rid of his cap number way worth it if he would agree to trade and would give him legit chance at a cup with avs

On paper he might make sense. But yeah, no, been there, done that. His departure from Colorado wasn't pretty, he had nothing good to say about the organization. Good riddance to him.

Was Anderson supposed to rave about how great the team was? Sacco was coach, Hunwick/O'Byrne/Wilson were getting significant ice time on D, and Kevin Porter had the 5th most goals on the team. On top of that, our prospect pool was essentially empty. There really weren't many good things to say about the team back then.

On the NHL website it has grubauer out indefinitely.

King henrik?

Cant get a player like Howard, Dell, Crawford. They all are not goalies you want in a playoff run.

Francouz you guys really think can be binnington like for you? You need a starter to compete for the cup
