He looked really good, but it was one game against the Kings B team. I'm excited about him, but not ready to crown him 1C and kwisatz haderach yet.

He looked solid. I just posted in the GDT.

Hunted down pucks. Went to the front of the net. His PP blast was a thing of beauty. He looks promising.

But it was against the B team Kings. Still hopeful he’ll be solid. Great first impression though.

Having watched him on Montreal, he's absolutely lethal when he can find space. He has a harder time finding space when being forced to play the wing, but on the power play, space is easy to come by and he can rip off one timers. He's also a puck hound and usually (but not always) isn't afraid to go into board battles to win possession. He doesn't win them as much as I'd like him to, but he's there. Personally, after seeing the Habs jerk him around so much, I feel like he just overthinks things. If he's given clear direction he's not afraid to do as he's told. He's very effective when he focuses his mind on something. Give him too much to think about and he could just end up doing nothing at all.

Absolutely. It's why not every player can be a two way complete player and not every player should be. Maybe in his older years Galchenyuk will be a dependable defensive player but his abilities are all in getting the puck, moving the puck, passing the puck, shooting the puck, and hopefully scoring the puck. Usually players struggle to be centres because they have more responsibility than a winger but Galchenyuk at the wing loses variety and he likes to play wherever he feels the flow of the game is going. That's why centre works best. Down the middle he can see where he will have the most space to play his game. Shoved to the wing he's limited.

I suspect he will have a good year. He is a pretty one dimensional player and has cement for feet, but put in a position to leverage his strengths should be good for 25-30 goals. Will be interesting to see where he plays in the lineup, I bet he ends up on wing. Habs fans were convinced he is a C, I see a top 6 scoring winger

Chucky is a special player wasted in Montreal by bad coaching and bad management enjoy him you will have these "Experts Habs fan" that say Chucky is a liability one dimensional and those same fan are the ones who propped up Alzner when he signed with the Habs. Always use the search function on hfboards before you take someones advice on a player.

Enjoy him I feel this trade has the chance to be Hall for Larsson good for you Coyotes fans.

Don't listen to horse crap like this. As a long time Hab fan you guys have a beauty in Galchenyuk. Cement feet??? Total bullshit. He doesn't have explosive acceleration like McDavid or Mckinnon but his edge work is elite and once he gets moving his top speed is just fine. He is by no means a defensive specialist but at least once a game he will have you jump off your couch with a play only the very few can pull off. Just like when we traded PK, I lost a little of my Habs heart, which now will reside in Arizona just like it does in Nashville.

Cement feet? He was flying the other night. Relatively quickly, too. I’ve watched quite a few videos of him and not once did I even consider him being slow. This is a false assessment.

Even if it was true, I'd take the feet over the head any day if we're talking about things made of cement.

I have been reading that about Chucky also, and I agree with you. How people evaluate players are beyond me.

On a side-note, what should Domi do if another player keeps hacking and slashing him in the game, and the refs do nothing? And the other player is "oh, I can't actually fight anyone. I have a concussion-history.".

I assume that was the reasoning- even if the last hacks were considered "nothing"...

Montreal should make a video of all the hacking and slashing prior then. And here I am, discussing Domi again, with myself

A subtle love tap to the back of the legs is appropriate. Or maybe in the next board battle, a chicken wing to the stomach (but not the head). Get poked, poke back. Make him think twice about messing with you.

A sucker punch? No. Absolutely not. That's not making him think twice about messing with you. That's making yourself look like a complete moron.

Put him on a wing on your first line and he will be great. Play him at center, and he will disappoint you big time in a near future.

Sticking with the argument that a player will never change no matter the environment that he's placed in, are we just going to assume that Domi's going to be a disappointment at winger and at center? Doubtful. Domi will improve from his last couple years. He's got it in him. Galchenyuk may as well. Sometimes it takes a change of scenery and strategy, a fair chance.

To be fair that poster you quoted also said Subban wasn’t a team player and was selfish because he wore his own hat company instead of a Habs one.

You are going to get many hot takes it’s what some Habs fan do to players once they leave.

Go over to the Nashville board you will still have Habs fan asking if Subban is a cancer in the dressing room or ask if he is trade bait despite the rumour being false.

It will only get worst the more Chucky produces for you.

It has been a thing since the Chelios trade to assassinate the character of any player who leaves the Habs on bad terms.

But anyway, funny for someone to come in and say he can't play centre when Tocchet has been pretty happy so far with everything he's seen from Chuck. I don't see that changing anytime soon. It'll be fun to watch the squirming excuses when Chuck is a top six centre scoring goals in the Pacific division.
