Apparently, Saarela has improved his defensive game this season, but that is by no means his game. The kid is a pure sniper who has some pretty solid straight line wheels. I could see them mixing up the bottom 6 throughout the game, but that might be too confusing. Also, Patrick Brown has played quite a bit in the middle down in Charlotte, so he likely has taken shifts with Saarela. Lastly, Saarela isn't a particularly big dude, but he's "thick" and earlier in his career was known to lay a hit or two of his own.

No, it won't be. I had to guess, if he plays, I think we'll see:

Nino-Aho-TT
Foegele-Staal-Williams
McGinn-Wallmark-Saarela
Maenalanen-McKegg-Brown

Or

Nino-Aho-TT
Foegele-Staal-Williams
McGinn-Wallmark-McKegg
Maenalanen-Brown-Saarela

Something like that.

Rod isn't gonna move McKegg to the wing. I guess it's gonna be your first version but with Maenalanen and Saarela swapped.
Here's what I'd do:

Niederreiter, Aho, Teravainen
Foegele, Staal, Williams
Maenalanen, Wallmark, Saarela
McGinn,McKegg, Brown

If you call up a goal scorer, you have to put him in the position to score. In the bottom six, Wallmark and Maenelanen are currently the best options. Wallmark creates more offence than McKegg. Brown is limited and was underwhelming in his first game. McGinn even managed to shut down Svechnikov so Saarela's odds would be pretty bad on his line, too.
